@@Nanlvsrav exactly! I think it would be a lot of fun but I'd stay grounded given the next chance hahah. I know my fiance wants to do a boat trip but I'll have to talk it over with him because he's even more prone to motion sickness than I am hahah. You might get your numbers balanced out that way! :)

@@JuliaS oh that's too bad, although I thought it would have been too good to be true if we could hahah

Hi Ladies- For those of you having a night event on the beach, are any of you going to have stringed lights?  My WC told me I would need 4 strings and that the total cost would be $2,500!  I also wanted to have paper lanterns for our reception in the grand garden and I've been waiting for weeks now to find out how many strings I'd need and what the cost would be.

If anyone is bring their own lights and/or paper lanterns, would you please share how many you're bringing?  I figure I could at least buy my own paper lanterns, but then I'd either need to still use Lomas' lights or figure out how many stringed lights I'd need to buy on my own.

You can always ask your WC what the dimensions are. Definitely don't go through lomas though. I was looking into string lights before finding out they can't hang them up at the sky deck and their prices are beyond ridiculous for that. Something like $200 for a string of 12 lights! There's a lady on here who rents them out if you don't want to haul them there. They're a bit longer than the ones from lomas and they're about $15 per string. You would just meet her somewhere in playa :)

Welcome

Best suggestion is for you to read this and the other azul fives threads from start to finish and most if not all your answers will be given! Then if there are still questions... Ask away!

According to what I've read it's up to $250 but it gets determined and negotiated when you arrive at the hotel so no one really as a definite answer :(

Did any of the brides get the honeymoon upgrade once they arrived? Has anyone had any of their guests book one of the sky suites? My father in law wants to book a 2 bedrooms sky for him and his mother. I am just wondering if there is a capacity limit for that? I am thinking that we all spend quite a lot of time up there as it would be another gathering place.

@@kmk2016 @@CarlynD i believe that she has read it which is why she is asking the question. I don't believe that dollar amount has been brought up as I was actually looking for this the other day as well and could not find anything.

Set up fees are $250 maximum and must be paid in cash at time of your onsite planning meeting with your WC. It can be less depending on your requests but $250 is the max. If you only need menu cards, programs laid out... They don't charge.

This is discussed and negotiated on site at your arrival planning meeting... NOT with your Florida WC.

This $250 covers all wedding events. It is not per event.

Sorry... I know it's been written here before but obviously not in this thread (if you didn't see it either)

@Smellsey, we have not actually booked our rooms yet, but we were looking at the sky suites. The honeymoon suite and sky suite are the same thing (minus the rose petals). The Sky suite is the exact same thing as the 1 bed suite, with access to the rooftop. I looked at the sky suite during the BDR in September. They are very spacious and the rooftop alone has a dining room table, hot tub, bar area and a double lounge chair that is covered. They said you can even host private events up there, but it would be a surcharge. To the best of my knowledge, you can reserve all the sky suites as long as they are available.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
