  1. @Lissie88, my wedding is in April 2015 and I went to the BDR in September. I had already made by reservation when I went, but I think it was defiantly worth it! I changed my ceremony location because of this. If you are interested in any other Karisma hotels they will take you to those locations as well. I think someone already mentioned this, but if you book within 30 days of going to a BDR you get like $500 of your banquet menu, or something like that! Huge!
  2. Does anyone have some sort of destination wedding checklist they are following? We want to make sure we don't forget anything!
  3. @Smellsey, we have not actually booked our rooms yet, but we were looking at the sky suites. The honeymoon suite and sky suite are the same thing (minus the rose petals). The Sky suite is the exact same thing as the 1 bed suite, with access to the rooftop. I looked at the sky suite during the BDR in September. They are very spacious and the rooftop alone has a dining room table, hot tub, bar area and a double lounge chair that is covered. They said you can even host private events up there, but it would be a surcharge. To the best of my knowledge, you can reserve all the sky suites as long as they are available.
  4. @TinkerSofi I asked them about the cenote when I was at the BDR. They said you can't use it/swim it in
  5. @cassiadams22 this should give you a good idea about what everything costs. The decor is pretty pricey so I think I'll just be decorating myself. http://www.weddingsbylomastravel.com/planning/
  6. Thank you, @khmciver, this is good to know! I am really not the most patient person and I was wondering how long I should wait before I send up a follow up e-mail. For a few things I have used the "Live Chat" on the Karisma website and they respond quickly. Who is your wedding coordinator? Mine is Brigette Castro right now.
  7. Hello ladies, what has been your experience with dealing with the wedding coordinators in Miami? How long does it typically take for them to respond to your e-mails?
  8. Hey ladies, I just attended the BDR in September and I loved the hotel! It's defiantly smaller than some other resorts I've stayed at, but I think that's better for our guests so we people don't get lost. Here is what I found out about the construction going on. It should be done around Nov 2014-Jan 2015 and it includes two new villas. Guests can still stay there, but they are trying to sell them as condos. They don't know what type of rooms, or how much they will cost. They are adding 3 new restaurants (Indian, Thai and Caribbean), which are included in the all inclusive package and a new bar. Let me know if you ladies have in questions, or need pictures of anything!
  9. Hi Ladies! I am brand new to this thread, and I just booked my wedding date for April 2015! Can't wait! We are set to do a sunrise beach ceremony. (Yes, a little unusual, but we really wanted a secluded beach ceremony and that's very difficult to find). Once people get over the idea of waking up early, I think it will be beautiful. Is anyone doing their reception by the pool/garden area? Do we have to rent a dance floor, or can we use the cement as a dance floor?
