Remembering Lost Love Ones

Recommended Posts

Hey don't mean to bring anyone down but I'm looking for some ideas to remember lost love one without making my wedding party and guest uncomfortable

My son was suppose to be in my wedding next year but unfortunately I lost him June of last year to SIDS a month after he was born.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss!! :(

If you have a picture of him I've seen people do memory lockets attached to their bouquet.

It's small so your guests and wedding party may not even notice but he will be there for you. I think you can get them on Etsy. Hope this helps!

@mzlisa27

Congrats!

So sorry to hear about your son :(

We had a lot of grandparents who had passed away that we wanted to honor. We made a photo table/display that had a photo of all of our grandparents and our parents on their wedding day (it was a mix of those who were still living and those who had passed away).  One frame had a sign in it that I made that said "We know that you would be here today if heaven wasn't so far away". It was a sweet way to honor them as well as show our family's generations without making anyone feel uncomfortable.

I have also been to weddings where a chair was left empty in the first row at the aisle and it had a lit candle sitting in it. The minister/justice of the peace said in the beginning of the ceremony that the empty chair was the seat for those who had passed, and the light/candle showed that they were with us today, or something like that.

Keep looking! There are lots of great ways that you can honor your loved ones  :wub:

My condolences for all of those you lost, especially your son MzLisa.

I really like the wedding photo i and empty chair idea.  I was thinking about doing a day of the dead sugar skull candle by the guest book for all those that have passed.  We have several and want to honor them all.  We would need 9 frames for all, so might try and do some sort of collage.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
