A little thing I like to call "Operation Wedding Dress" (aka, my dress is too small... but it won't be soon!)

Hi! My TA suggested I check out this website and I'm glad I did I've hit gold on the first thread I've checked out - help with getting my weight down so I can get into shopping for that perfect dress! And Ironman and DinaQtobe are getting married at the two places we are looking at! I'm really looking forward to hearing all about your experiences!

Oh girls, I totally know how you feel... Booking my wedding was a nightmare. And in the end is was his sister that was very difficult, she was the one at the start that said she wanted us to d whatever we wanted and she would be there! Then when we JUST had the 10 we needed to keep the price she decided to cancel, for CRAZY reasons. She didn't like the airline, well.. um.. She's a travel agent, and knowing FI values her opinion so much I asked her if it was a good one, and she said yes! So... If she did cancel, we would all have to away 400 more per person (deposits already paid!) aaaaand we are travelling on the airline she now decided she didn't like. Oh, and she and her husband decided suddenly they want to have another baby, so she may be too pregnant to travel. Well, I can't tell anyone how to plan their lives and I'm not going to say "please wait to have your baby", but the kicker is she asked everyone not to tell me she was planning to cancel (even my FI, she told him not to tell me!) and then she drops this on me the day before payment is due for everyone! Why didn't se feel she could tell me this? At this point it's too late for me to figure something else out! Luckily, my FI is a good guy, so he told me anyway, and then our friend and his daughter happened to book in the nick of time!

I swear, people just forget. Especially those that are married, and have done all of this craziness. They forget the stress and hassle of the wedding.

Yes, people have their lives and will keep doing things for them. I hate the sneakiness though. Just be truthful, just be honest. It's not fair to anyone when things are covered in lies (even if it's in an effort to not hurt someone's feelings)...

Glad things worked out for you!

Best part is... she also booked, she didn't cancel, at the last hour she paid her balance... I'll never tell her that she didn't have to - even though I know that's kind of sneaky myself.  She should GO to her brother's wedding!!!  I don't want her to bail.

The friends are on a flight from Calgary... it's not like she'll figure it out.  And her husband gave her *&$# for stressing us out, he told her to just shut up and go already (he's coming too obviously).

          Family drama I tell you!

Oh my goodness. My FI's sister isn't coming at all. When we got engaged we told them we were having a DW, and she never told us she was pregnant (she knew), so we went and booked for December. She told us a few weeks later, just saying they would have an additional traveller with them. Now she's decided that the baby will be to little to travel and she's not coming at all. I don't have kids, so I don't know what it's like, but this has obviously upset me. I know it's important to my FI that his sister is there, and now she's not coming. Trying to not let it bother me, since we can't change anything now and there's nothing I can do to convince her otherwise.

So now his other sister (who is attending) told us that during the ceremony she's going to try and skype in the sister back in Canada. I told her she's welcome to do this, but asked that she stands at the back, to not distract other guests. We're paying big $$ for a videographer, so the moment can be shared with everyone who can't be there anyways, and the video is going to be way better than a choppy, audio-less skype call. I'd prefer her not to skype at all, and for her to actually be there paying attention to us and present in our moment, so standing at the back was my compromise.

I'm resisting from going to starbucks, and instead having 0 point cup of tea this morning. And I think myself and a co-worker are going to go do some lane swimming at lunch.

Ouch...we are also having issues with my FSIL..she keeps asking about the wedding but then mentioning she has no money so in my opinion i think she's going to ask my FH to pay which he said he isn't going to do.  Additionaly, my FH dislikes her abusive husband with an intense passion so he isn't inviting him(understatement).  I am not touching that one so i'm letting him handle that one cause I already know a storm is brewing.

Weddings sometimes brings out the WORST in people.  It's astounding.

Unnecessary drama...I don't have kids either but it seems like those are the people that have caused the most drama even though we're trying to accommodate them.

My brother wasnt going to come to our wedding also, and had a big fit about how we are selfish for having a wedding away. And this and that. They have a little girl too she will be 2 in April next year after the wedding. Finally we explained to him that he just needed the deposit and they can make payments every two weeks., So now they are booked and they are bringing their daughter too. Shes free, free at the resort and free for the flight, so it works out perfectly for them

I woudlnt see why they woudlnt want to bring their child away. Im not sure if its free for you guys. Id say its a win win lol

            I hope everything works out..
