Anyone getting eyelash extension?!!

Recommended Posts

I've had eyelash extensions three times, and loved them everytime! Twice I've had them in Mexico, and the heat and humidity doesn't make them fall off any faster, from what I could tell. My friend did my set for my wedding as a gift. It was great to not have to worry about mascara in the pool and ocean, and my eyes always looked good for when guests kept coming and knocking on our door unexpectedly. (Which was constantly for the entire week!)

Here's a photo of the ones my friend did for me. I can't remember what kind they are, but she said they were one of the high quality types (not mink though) and she used the longest ones she had, and lots of 'em. I wanted the big dramatic effect! I have a lot of lashes to begin with, so she said my eyes could handle a lot of the extensions :)

LOVE the lashes! I too wore them for our engagement trip in Punta Cana, they kept up in the heat and loved that I was make up free but still look bright eyed!

I LOVE all your wedding pictures, can I ask where you purchased that tote with the anchor on it?  We are doing a nautical theme wedding and it suits the theme perfectly.

Thank you,

Melissa

I've had them done twice now, and I just love how much it quickens up my morning routine. I also feel like I can get away with a lot less makeup and still look bright eyed :)

Thanks! I totally agree, I wish I could have them all the time! I work from home though, so I just can't justify the cost. Hope you're planning is going well, you're getting so close! :D

Thanks Melissa! The anchor totes are from Discountmugs.com. Our friend designed our logo for us as a wedding gift. He's very talented, and it was so amazing that he took the time to design and draw the logo by hand and then digitize it. We sent the artwork to Discountmugs.com and they screen printed it for us.

This is our wedding logo, but we left our names and date out for the tote bags and tumbler mugs so that people could feel more comfortable reusing them in the future.

I am also considering eyelash extensions, I have seen them on a few people in person and they look fabulous! I was worried about how they would hold up in the heat, pool and ocean but from the sounds of it they are ok?  I think they are so pretty and adds just the right amount of drama to the face, and you don't need mascara...sign me up!

I love my eyelash extensions.  I've had good and bad ones.  The ones I've liked are Mink but I've also gone on groupon to find deals because the salons want you to come in and keep going back.  So why not try out a bunch of different salons until you find one that works the best for you, especially if you have a lot of time before your wedding.  :woot:

I'll be doing mine a few days before we leave for the DW and bringing a set of fakes I own  just in case the extensions don't hold up very well.

Mine held up fine throughout the wedding and our trip, but didn't last as long as I expected after I got home. I think if it weren't for the humidity, water, heat, etc. they would've stayed on longer. But I said from the start as long as they made it through the wedding, that was all I needed.

Then I'm sold! I agree, as long as they last for the wedding day that's all I want. I'm excited for them!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
