Now Larimar 2014 Brides

@PuntaCanaBride14 Did you email spa1.serpc@secretsresorts.com? I emailed them back in January for my August wedding and got a response the next day. The spa's assistant who replied to me is Vanessa Disla. Worst case scenario, her phone number listed is 809-221-4646 Ext 7755. Good luck!

@bethlorentz Your day will be here soon! I don't think it's unreasonable; I would just consider the size of your entire group before determining if that's what you want. We have 14 people as well for our entire bridal party, but didn't think we should have the long table because we only thought that maybe 40 people would go total, and we didn't want the place to look empty. LOL. So we decided to do the sweetheart table which is included in the Divine Package. Now we found out that so far 73 people are booked.... YIKES! But we aren't changing our minds about the table because we want everyone to mingle with everyone else! Hope my thoughts help!

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it!  I might wait to make the final decision until I see the reception space by the pool!  My big day is coming so quickly!  I can't believe you have 73 confirmed guests already, that is awesome!!!  We are pretty set on our number, with only 4 people still up in the air, and we will have 35.  I am getting so excited!!!

Hello everyone. I am considering the Now Larimar for my destination wedding in March 2015. I am trying to decide between this resort and the Dreams Punta Cana. Any advice to help me decide?

Thanks.

My date is May 17! I know there's someone out there with the same date because when I requested the fountain for the ceremony it was "unavailable" lol... so beachfront it is! Congrats to all of the ladies on this forum :) It's nice to have somewhere to go where I know that everyone is dealing with the same happiness, frustrations, excitement and stress as I am  :)

@@MrsFountain2B Hey just wondering if you've booked your flights yet?! I found out that AirTran Airlines is the only company that offers nonstop flights to and from Punta Cana. We originally were going to come down on Tuesday 8/26 or Wednesday 8/27 but those flights weren't nonstop, so we decided to come in on Monday 8/25! Now we're staying until Tuesday 9/2. Now that we've got that out the way, we're trying to figure out how we're going to bring all of our décor down there without paying a bunch of fees! LOL

@@ajansen1 Hey and congrats on the upcoming destination wedding! I had the same dilemma with deciding between those resorts. Dreams was a place that everyone had been to on vacation to and raved about it. We had to look at our wedding guest group type to decide; I think Dreams might have been no kids (correct me if I'm wrong) and right now we have 9 children confirmed. It looked to me that Now had more on-site activities too (game room, casino, more restaurants, etc). Additionally, their negotiated room prices for the amount of guests that we were more expensive. Also, the wedding package offered with Now was more appealing to me than Dreams. I hope this helps in your decision!

Do any of you know - if you have to be there for 3 days before the wedding regardless of ceremony type, if the day you land counts? If we were to land on a Tuesday, could we get married on Friday? Or would it have to be the Saturday?

Thanks

Hello everyone. I am considering the Now Larimar for my destination wedding in March 2015. I am trying to decide between this resort and the Dreams Punta Cana. Any advice to help me decide?

Thanks.

I've photographed weddings at both resorts and both are really great!

Now Larimar has a great beach, I think it's a little smaller resort as well.

Dreams Punta Cana is beautiful too with gorgeous garden gazebo (doesn't matter if you are considering a beach ceremony).  The other thing to consider is the beach at Dreams Punta Cana has pretty big waves most of the time, while the one at Now Larimar is a lot quieter most of the year (depends on the season of course).  Only matters if you like to swim in the ocean.

Hope this helps a little!

Hey ladies! I am wanting a destination wedding in 2015 in the DR. I have looked at so many resorts but keep coming back to Now! This forum has helped seal the deal, Now Laimar it is! Has anyone gone through Apple vacations as a travel agent? We currently are talking to a destination wedding specialist through them. They require a large deposit for booking a block of rooms that then goes towards the wedding. I am uneasy about this because at this point we do not know how many people will for sure come and if you hold too many rooms that you don't use, you lose money. If anyone has had good or bad experiences with Apple Vacations I would love your input! I am very excited about Now because I love the fountain area!

@@EmilyR Hey and congrats on getting married! This site has helped a great deal for me deciding on Now and im less than 6 months out now! I looked around for travel agents too and went with Wright Travel Agency from this site. They've handled everything so far; booking flights and resort rooms for my guests, negotiating room prices and getting us promos. Also they provide transport to and from the airport for all guests. They also keep me updated with how many people have booked and if I need to secure more. They just required $100 per room and for oir promo I had to secure a minimum 6 rooms. Thats it!I secured 20 initially with our estimate but more people have booked and the agency took it upon themselves to contact the resort and get more, while making sure we received the samegroup rate! Im so glad that I decided to go with them because this is so much less stress! Check out their reviews on this site, and good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
