  1. Hi ladies! I just got back from our 9 night stay at NOW Larimar and it was nothing short of perfect!!!! I would be happy to share anything about our experience, but I will not be checking this site regularly (and I don't really know how to work it) so please email me ANY questions you might have! bethlorentz@@gmail.com The basics of our wedding: -Fountain wedding on June 6, 2014 at 5pm -Hair and make up were done by members of the spa staff -Reception by the relaxing pool from 7-10 -Silver buffet dinner -35 guests -Luisa was my wedding coordinator -Outside photographer (Caribbean Emotions - Michael and Pascal) -Welcome party on the beach -No cocktail hour -Resort DJ -Brought almost all of my own decorations and artificial flowers Look forward to helping how I can! Congrats to all of you!
  2. Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it! I might wait to make the final decision until I see the reception space by the pool! My big day is coming so quickly! I can't believe you have 73 confirmed guests already, that is awesome!!! We are pretty set on our number, with only 4 people still up in the air, and we will have 35. I am getting so excited!!!
  3. Hi ladies!!! It is so fun reading all of your posts. Does anyone know how strict they are with their restaurant dress codes? My guys are not too fond of wearing pants every night... Also, did anyone have, or is anyone planning to have, a traditional long head table? I want a long enough table for 14 people... is that unreasonable for a poolside reception? Thank you!!! June 6, 2014 wedding
  4. Hi Ladies, For anyone that has already had their wedding... are all of the restaurants strict with their dress code? Looks like almost every restaurant you would go to for dinner requires the guys to wear pants? Also, did any of you have a traditional head table. We want a long table at our reception with the whole wedding part (long enough for 14 people.) Thank you!!! June 6 wedding by the way
  5. Hi ladies! Has anyone done, or heard of doing a group "booze cruise?" I really would like our whole group to go out on a catamaran or ship the day after the wedding, but looking for referrals of good companies! Thanks
  6. Hello to all of you beautiful brides! I am actually getting married at a different resort, but wondering if any of you know of any good "booze cruises" to take 40-50 guests on? Thank you and have a great day!
  7. Has anyone checked into "Booze Cruises"? I would really really like to do one with all of my guests, but I get very very sea sick, so wondering if there are any that stay in shallow waters, or if there are areas without waves? That may be a silly question considering it is the ocean! haha.
  8. @Kristina Simms - Could you just have your items shipped directly to the resort???
  9. Thanks for the advice! I am also torn on getting the wooden walkway, anyway you could send me that youtube video you saw???
  10. This is what Luisa at NOW replied to me regarding my question about whether you pay for the company or each individual person for outside vendor fees... "About the photographer and the videographer is they belong to the same company the fee will be USD$500.00 but if they belong to different companies the fee will be USD$500.00 for each." So now I'm confused because @jennifer8913, you said the opposite, some of this stuff is just so unclear! Thanks for your reply though I'm excited to read your review! Does anyone else have any input on the outside vendor fee?
  11. Hi Ladies!!! Does anyone know if the "outside vendor fee" is applied to both the photographer and videographer even if it is the same company... which would make it $1000 extra... or is it just $500 extra total??? Thanks and happy planning

  13. I heard back from Luisa yesterday too! She did a great job of answering my questions, and I also got that excel spreadsheet! I am hoping to move my ceremony time from 6 to either 4 or 5 though now that I see a lot of the reception sites "close" at 10pm. I am 99% sure I will do my ceremony at the fountain and I am still unsure about my reception site. I am going to do the silver buffet, unsure about dj, unsure about photo/video at this point... I am going to shop around and make sure the resort is the best deal! Someone asked about centerpieces... I think I will use whatever I get for my reception back home so I can use them twice! I am not big on things like decorations and I am NOT a flower person! I really just want a big party I will probably end up doing some sort of vase with water and flowers/rocks. It is probably going to be hard to pack those, but I shouldn't need too many. Is anyone else doing the fountain? Are you bringing things to decorate that space? Is anyone doing any group outings/excursions? I want to either go on a catamaran or another type of "booze cruise" but I will only do it if they take you somewhere with calm water as I get super sea sick!!! Happy planning everyone! So glad I found this site
  14. @duchovny0901 Congrats to you too! I have NO CLUE where I am going to do my dinner and dancing! Any suggestions? I will absolutely not be renting a restaurant though (not in the budget.) What have you seen other big groups do? I would love to be outside, but I just haven't really looked at the options yet. What are you doing for photography, dj, ceremony, etc.?
  15. @KatyaNova Are you available 6/6/14? If so, what are your rates to do "get ready, ceremony, cocktail hour, 1 hour of reception" (feel free to PM me those) Thanks!!!
