Welcome!

Do you know where you are getting married yet? Would be funny if it was at Dreams too since I'm getting married the day before you! I wanted 8/8/08 but it was already booked. Have fun planning!

Oooo I have a question that hopefully someone can point me to the right direction!! Should I plan my wedding with the hotel wedding coordinator or should I go through a travel agency specializing in destination weddings?

The background story is:

As soon as my fiancé and I decided on beach wedding in Cancun, I started research immediately and got tons of information directly from the hotels. Last month I went to a wedding convention in town and found a travel agency that specializes in destination wedding. I figured I can ask them too, see if they can get a better package. So far all the prices are the same (wedding ceremony, cocktail, reception).

Now I am debating if I should go through the travel agency or not. The travel agency is not charging anything - my concern is more if it's just easier for me to work with the hotel wedding coordinator instead of telling the travel agency rep to tell the hotel wedding coordinator what I want. I'm so confused. I figure I need to decide soon so I don't waste other people's time too.

Any suggestions? Or pros & cons from experience?

PS: my fiancé grew up in Latin America so he's fluent in Spanish, so language is probably less of an issue.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
