Hi everyone! So my fiancé and I just got our confirmation that we are booked at the Moon Palace for 6/25/15...YAY!! Angeles emailed me and said we should reserve our event locations. The ceremony is at 6pm on the beach. I think we're going to stay at the Nizuk side but closer to the Sunset. What are everyone's thoughts of the two?

But my main question is choosing locations for the events. We want to have a cocktail hour then a reception. We really don't want the guests walking all over. So if we're getting married on the beach, where would you recommend we have the cocktail hour and the reception? I like the look of the Venado and Tucan terrace. Are there any rooftop areas nearby that we could have the cocktail hour? Also, if we have the reception on one of the terraces, do we have to have a buffet? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

@@mspellman1    We are getting married there two days before you on June 23!!!  Maybe we will run into one another :)

We are getting married at the Tucan Gazebo.  Then we are doing the Tucan Garden or Tucan Terrace for cocktail party.   Depending on the size of our wedding group we may either have the reception at that terrace or if we have too many people  may move it to a terrace on the Grand side.

The only rooftop location is at the Caribbeano Restaurant.  However, they charge you an extra fee per person for that.

She's the coordinator i had and got replaced. She was quick to respond but her problem was that i could not get any information from her, she wasn't helpful at all. I had to ask the same question 50 times before i received a straight answer. For example she sent me the list of approved photographers for the resort and i had to find out on here that none of them were approved anymore and that i would now have to pay the vendor fee for the photographer i booked from the list because he was no longer approved.

I wish your friend lots of luck. My advice to her if she stays with Margarita is to be persistent and constantly call her.

The one i have now is Brenda. She is better with answering questions and assisting in helping to plan but she's taken 2 weeks and counting to answer  a question and our wedding is less than 50 days away. ::sigh:;

Oh geeze....okay thanks for the heads up.  How did you go about getting assigned a new coordinator when the time came?  Just want to be prepared in case that happens to her as well- hopefully she's changed and has gotten better..fingers crossed!!

I hope you get all your answers answered- once you get your on site planner assigned it should be smooth sailing! :)

Does anyone know if there is a 24 hour restaurant at the resort? I know most all inclusives do have atleast one small buffet open 24 hours or past midnight but for Moon Palace i've only seen the restaurants open until 11 pm the latest and 24 hour room service.

@@shelikespink did you happen to find out the answer to your question about having an event after midnight?

I believe the only thing open 24 hours is the room service.

Hi everyone,

I am having a "small" problem. Dulce is our wedding coordinator and our wedding is November 25th, i havent received an email from her since January 30th and over the last month i have sent her at least 2 emails requesting information on how she would like us to complete payment for our wedding collection. I havent heard back from her- in fact i havent heard back from her on an email i sent in february. I am starting to get concerned as the issue from february is why we havent signed our PO yet.

Does anyone else have Dulce? is she still arround? Has anyone else experianced lack of response to this extent?

im not exaclty sure how to escalate this or if it is worth escalating. how long would you wait for a response?

only 4 months 18 days to go :)

I would call the weddings department and ask if she is available. They can look up your wedding and see if something has been changed on your account by using your wedding confirmation number. I hadn't heard from my room coordinator in a couple months after several emails and called... come to find out she was on maternity leave and I had been re-assigned a new coordinator. No one even let me know that change had been made.

Hope this helps! I am at the 90 mark and just beginning all of the detailed plans.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
