Try PSAV- they were a perferred vendor in 2012 when I got married and a lot cheaper!! :)

I completely agree that photos and music are very important! I'm on a budget but those are definitely the two areas I've allocated the most amount of money to :) Especially considering how much JSAV charges, that is insane. That is a good idea about telling other vendors about the outside vendor cost to see if they can bring it down just a little... Thank you so much for your information, this has been very helpful!

Marvin does charge a delivery fee - I think it was like $25 or something...but the resort does not charge you to have the flowers delivered- in fact I never even told the resort I was having outside flowers and my WC never asked- I just picked the color of bouquet for my free one and used the free bout for my husband.  I wanted to use the resort's bouquet just in case Marvin didn't deliver my flowers on time- but thankfully I did not need it and it was displayed at the cake table.  :)

just wondering on topic of cocktail and buffet menus:

which ones did you choose?

what items did you substitute?

What items did you and guest love and hate?

torn between the two gazebo's.   We really like the Tucan Gazebo and the garden/terrace area, but worried the walk down the aisle to the gazebo is long.  worried it might be too long walk for future father in law.   About how long of a walk is it?  Should we move it to Bugambilias Gazebo?

Okay so just found out that there is different buffet menu for over 50 guests. Sad cuz we liked the Cajun for smaller buffet. Not loving the larger buffets

For those that had buffet menu for over 50 guests what did you like or dislike for food?

Could you substitute?

I've heard some will allow 1-2 items substituted, but other brides have gotten 3 items.

We are thinking of doing BBQ buffet but wondering what exactly is the different salads. Listed is:

Green salad

Tomato salad

Cucumber salad

Corn salad

Potato salad

Are these all different or just toppings for the green salad?

Did anyone get a pasta salad or shrimp pasta salad???

Hi Moon Palace Brides

I am getting married at Moon Palace July 18th 2014 (9 weeks on Friday) I have got Margarita as my coordinator and struggling to communicate. I still havent been assigned my location and i am quite concerned as my reason for marrying at MP was due to the gazebos.

I have 27 guests including me and my h2b staying for 14 nights, 2 staying for 7 nights and 2 coming as a guest pass. What am i entitled to for free could anyone help me? I'm having a private reception in one of the ballrooms if thsi included?

Thanks Kirsty xx

@@KirstyWass Are your 27 guests staying each 14 nights?  How many rooms do you have booked through your wedding block?  If you reach 75 nights or have 25 rooms booked from your wedding block you qualify for free unlimited events and 7 nights room credited back to you.  I would definitely find out this could give you a lot of freebies.

This is on the Palace resort site.

7 COMPLIMENTARY NIGHTS

unlimited private functions (one hour cocktail + two hour dinner. MAX three hours per day. Non cumulative)^ + 1 room upgrade for the bride and groom to the next available room category up to Concierge Level.*

When you book 25 rooms for 3 nights or 75 room nights

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
