That's partially the reason... I bought my dress near my mom's house (2 hours from Philly) so being home for Turkey Day made it a good combo. End of November was really the latest that I could wait as it will be less than 2 months for me! Ack!

That was really smart!!!

So, I don't know if it's this thread or what, but this is the first time in a loooooooonnnnnngggggggg time that I've actually done 5 days of cardio in a week. WHOOO HOOO!!!! Worked out again last night on the treadmill (1 hour = 750 calories, plus 100 crunches.) I weighed myself this morning and I'm still struggling with those 2 pounds. Geez, this is annoying. Apparently I'm really good at maintaining, just not losing. LOL!!!

I plan to workout again tonight and since I don't have a lot going on these next 7 days, I should be able to workout everynight. That should help me make some progress. And don't forget, the challenge for these next 7 days is to do crunches every night.

Come on ladies, we can do it!!!! Hey, where's Kash - she hasn't been on here in awhilehuh.gif

OH SNAP!!!! I went to lunch today with a friend of mine that I haven't seen in about a month and she said, "You look good, you lost weight." Of course I had to hug her right there in front of everyone. Even though the scale isn't really moving, I think the working out, calorie counting and no diet coke are making some kind of progress. YIPPEE!!!

That is great! The number on the scale isn't quite as important as how you look and feel. But believe me I know how frustrating it is too work so hard at it and not have the scale budge. and remember, muscle weighs more than fat, right? Keep at it and the scale will start to move.

Thanks!

I visited my niece and nephew last night so I didn't workout. I didn't even do my own challenge of crunches. Oh well, at least I stuck to my calorie goal for the day (actually I was a bit under.) Tonight I'll be on the treadmill for an hour and then I'll do my crunches.

I weighed myself this morning and I'm back to an 8.5lbs weight loss. Now, I just have to keep up with it this weekend so I don't put any weight back on.

And I have to say, Brendan is SOOOO good. I know he wants us to go out to dinner tonight but he'll stay home and just watch TV so I can do my workout and stick to my calories. He's so supportive when I'm dieting. What a guy!!!

Jen - it sounds like you're doing great! Maybe even if the scale isn't moving, your measurements are... have you busted out the tape measure? Also, I think everyone is different, but I highly recommend only weighing yourself once a week. Pick a day, and use that as your weight. Getting on the scale daily can be frustrating, depressing, and less than accurate. So many things make your weight vary daily, that a weekly measurement is really better. I also measure myself every 2 weeks, and its really helped me to stay motivated, but stop obsessing. Give it a try and see what happens... :)

As for me, I'm still doing terribly with the exercise. I went to the gym today (step 1), but didn't really do as much as I should have. I did some strength training, but less than usual. I also only did 15 minutes on the treadmill - boo. Really bad. But, on the positive, I went, and I did SOMETHING. So I'm happy about that. Tomorrow is another day, and I'm off for the next 4 days (after tonight), which is always helpful!

Jen, I haven't used a tape measure yet. That sounds too scary (LOL!!!) But it's a great idea. I just don't think I'm there yet. I agree that everyone should only weigh themselves once a week, but I can't. I'm obsessed. It's so bad. I just can't help it - I get on the scale every morning and sometimes again at night after I workout. It's a sick obsession really.

Well, I worked out Friday, Saturday and Sunday (an hour on the treadmill & 100 crunches each day.) And as of this morning, I've officially lost 10 full pounds. I finally got over that 2 pound hump and I've lost an additional 2 pounds - FINALLY!!! It feels so GREAT!!!

How did everyone do this weekend?

I really have been doing awful! I just logged in to Sparkpeople for the first time in months! I really have been doing bad, and need to get my ass to the gym! I need a jumpstart in the right direction. Now that I have a little more time before we actually get married you think I would use the time wisely... nope, no desire, lol!

I was at a training all last week so I only worked out 2 days. YUCK!! I had been so good for the 2 weeks before that going to the gym 5 days each week. But I just got home from the gym - I did 45 minutes on the stair machine and some light abs. I think I might do a video later.

I have a little over 3 weeks left so I really need to pay attention to my diet. I am 12 days with no soda though!!

Jen - You are totally motivating me to focus. Thanks!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
