Okay, now it's time to just relax and focus on the BOTH OF YOU!!! The planning stage is over, the worrying stage is over, now it's time to just go with the flow and reep the rewards from all of your planning up to date. Don't fret. Everything will work itself out. It's a good thing that they are coming. I'm sure they would have felt horrible if they would have missed it.

Believe me, I understand where you're coming from. My in-law's are really anal about this too. In fact, when FI's sister got married this summer, they had this 'consultation' with the diocese to get the 'official' stance on whether one of the brothers could walk their sister down the aisle, and whether they could take communion because the sister was getting married in a methodist church.

Celebrate the fact that they are willing to step aside from the religious dictatorship for a few days and actually be there for their son. Have the resort wedding planner handle their access to the property for the wedding---- but you know what? If they can't get on the property, it's their own fault for waiting so long to decide their son was more important than a stupid religious stance, and keep in mind that this reflects far more on them as people than it does on either of you!!!

Oh, and if they DO try and guilt you---- turn about is fair play!!!! Dish it right back out to them! "I'm sorry your son wasn't important enough to actually make your plans with more than 1 weeks notice."

I am thrilled that they will be in attendance, but as the other ladies have said: don't put yourself out for them at this point. If by waiting so long they prove to be an inconvenience, that is THEIR headache -- not yours.

It is perplexing to me why people get wrapped around the axle about church wedding vs. non-church wedding. God is EVERYWHERE. He doesn't exist ONLY in the church. Geez. It's not like one is "more married" if you do the vows in a church. At the end of the day - marriage cert is a marriage cert!

Don't stress...and enjoy the day with your beloved. :)

Trust me it's a looooong walk to the front gate, don't do it! LOL It will work out in the end, they could have got their spiritual guidance sooner......but at least they are coming.

It stinks that they had to consult a 3rd party to tell them whether or not to go to their son's wedding, but I'm sure it means a lot to your FI that they will be there now.

Don't let this stress you out. Although it would have been better to know ahead of time, it is great that they came around. Just make sure you get them the list when you arrive, and designate someone to make sure that they get in okay. Just make sure you make someone else responsible for making sure they get in okay. You don't need to be worrying about that on your day. It will all work out fine.

wow! I would be annoyed at the short notice. I mean, you were planning for this for MONTHS and they had to know that and all the planning that goes with it! Did you buy gifts for your guests and do you have enough for them as well? You'll have to make sure the WC can arrange to add space for them at your wedding dinner as well... but, the bright side is they ARE coming, and it sounds like it was a big deal for them to make that decision. I am sure you will have a wonderful, magical wedding, and as the other ladies have said, DONT go to any extra stress for them, just relax and enjoy!

I'm glad to hear they finally came around! Its about time! Either way you shouldn't let this stress you out. Of course no matter what anyone says you want them to be there but I'm sure if you just designate someone to help you they will ensure that they get in. Just celebrate in the fact that they will be there to see you two get married.
