I've got a good chunk back. But not all. Some family booked with my travel agent and then didn't send the RSBP back. What can you do. *shrugs*

I was the same, except I sent out Invites in November 2012, I didnt see the point of save the dates I had all the information and pricing for our trip and our deadline for deposits was January! Which work out because I saved money not doing STD and I have had a tentative guest list since January, final payment is due September 13, 2013.

I did the same thing...I sent out invites with the save the dates last November (2012) for my November 2013 wedding. I didn't bother with RSVP's either. I figured whoever wanted to come would contact the agent and then I got a list from her for numbers, I didn't want to stress about RSVP's. We actually have a great turnout, about 45 guests which I am happy with. I am sending out an information package to keep people excited...that will be going out in late August.

I did the same, I made a website and asked people to RSVP there but I knew after reading lots here that no one or very few would do it, so I just let the RSVP's come from my travel agent! I am doing the same thing I am making luggage tags, and a pre-travel brochure to send out in August as well, plus final payment is due in september so I think it is also a friendly reminder that thats due as well!

We are wedding date twins!

We requested RSVP's by July 1, and our travel booking ends August 20. We've only had 2 others book, but have received about 4 positive RSVP's. We have received a few 'no's' from those we already knew weren't going to make it.

Oh nice! We only got back 3 rsvp's declining and 1 thru our website confirming but our TA gave me a list of ppl that had booked and placed deposit so I figure ill go by that. I actually just found out the hotel is booked for our wedding date so pretty much anyone that hasn't booked will need to book elsewhere if they really want to come.

I can't believe time is going by so fast!  I better get my butt in gear!!!!

How far are you ladies through the process?  What do you have left to do?

Ha! I was just thinking that yesterday. You know what? That last month did go by fast, so maybe people are right and it'll whiz by!

I'm still at the same point I was a month ago, except I picked up my dress last week (yay!). Next on the list I think will be the music I keep procrastinating on. Also:

ceremony script

vows

order small vases and votives for the reception

order our wedding rings

order gifts for our parents

get dress altered

purchase jewelry and sparkly sandals

order FI's suit

maybe add something to our sad wedding website?

order boutonnieres

order welcome bags so I can paint them

Most of the 'order' items I already know which ones I want but I'm waiting to see if something better pops up. Anyone else? How about you Dina?

I am also pretty much at the same place as I was last month, though I can scratch the FI's suit off the list!

The big thing I have to tackle right now is invitations.  We are going to try and print them next weekend, and send them out as soon as possible.  (Save The Dates went out in early March).

Other than that we have:

- find attire for the groomsmen

- have my dress altered

- ceremony script and vows

- organize music for ceremony and reception

- get legally married

Although that list seems to have a lot of big things on it, I don't feel overwhelmed at all - I am just so excited to go!!  I am pretty laid back so I might not go with anything specific for the ceremony, but I would like us to write our own vows (though I have no idea where to begin with that one...).  5 months still feels like lots of time, but I know this summer will FLY by!

What wedding website are you using? I just started playing around with mywedding.com today, but am curious to see what others have gone with? Apparently Moon Palace is going to give me a wedding website, but I have no idea when that will be, or what it will look like, so I'm trying to get on the ball now on my own.

I used theknot.com  wedding website.  I don't love it, but it is doing it's job.  I have heard that with mywedding you can get an app for free (and all your guests too) where they post the pictures to the app and it creates a special album for the newly married couple.  It sounds pretty neat!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
