Hello ladies!

My wedding is set for November 28, 2013 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. My fiance and I have already booked our room. We sent the STD's a few weeks ago, and now we are working on the formal invitations. I've gotten all the big stuff out of the way like reserving the church and reception site, and booking a photographer/videographer. Now I just need someone for hair/makeup! I'm so excited!

So, the big question, November Brides, is what do I do next?

:D :D :D  Dina

Congrats! It's definitely one of the biggest steps in the process you will take...

Have you sent STD's? Or are you doing invites? I'm getting marrie din November, and I sent out my invites about a month ago, requesting them back in June (to ease my stress.)

Have you gone dress shopping? I would do that, as ordering from a bridal shop can take anywhere from 4-8 months for your dress to come in.

Are you having a bridal party? Now's a good time to ask them - and then you'll have some helpers, and an ear to listen to all your ideas. :)

Get some of the other "big things" out of the way.

congrats!! yes, that is SUCH a relief once that's out of the way.  next I think would be your invitations.....sending them out and then I agree with MelB2012....you should probably start looking around for your dress.   I started in the beginning of March and I thought it would take me a while to choose (i'm picky) but it only took me 2 outings and I fell in love with my dress.  It had to be ordered to my size so it will be here in JULY.  Once it gets here, I have to go for my fitting and get it bustled so if it needs futher alterations at that time, that's another few weeks.... So yes, i'd suggest looking around for dresses, after sending out invitations of course.  Currently, I'm working on our OOT bags.....and they seem to be coming along well :) next task is my DIY aisle runner and looking for dresses for bridesmaids, flower girls, moms etc.

@MADY28; you're gettin married on my birthdate :) :) congrats! exciting!

Hi MelB,

I already have my dress (just need alterations), and the STDs went out 3 weeks ago.  I have started looking at wedding invitations but I haven't settled on anything yet.  My 3 sisters are going to be my bridesmaids.  They have their dresses already.  My dad already has his attire, my mom will be getting her dress soon.

I know that we still need to work out attire for my fiance, and his groomsman.  I hope to do that in the next few months.

Any other ideas?

Hi Dina.

Other things I am currently working on are:

Guest Book (I'm making a photobook with little envelopes where people can stick there well wishes)

Centrepieces (I'm CRAZY, and I'm bring down little vases, and will put floating candles with shells and turquoise stones in...)

OOT Bags - Of course! That's ongoing.

Welcome brochure for OOT bag - hello Vistaprint.

Ceremony script - I wrote our own, as I heard the script my resort uses is highly religious

Vows - will have to do

Fiance's wedding band - have to find it, buy it, get it engraved

Wedding day shoes - important for dress fittings. I JUST found mine last Sunday.

My bridemaid dresses are ordered, My fiance won't let me pick his/groomsmen attire. He knows what I want, but he's taking care of it... apparently.

Umm.... There's more. There's always more! Haha. OH - Music list. for your ceremony, dinner and reception. See!! And Cake topper! I might get a personalized one - haven't decided yet.

There's always more! Lol.

@DinaQtobe - I looked for invitations for months thorugh different companies. One day I went on Etsy and after searching through so many pages, I finally found the one that I had envisioned. It might be worth it to check it out. Also, have you already figured out your hair/makeup and who is going to do it?

Hey Ladies!

I don't know how I didn't find this board before but I'm Amie and me and the fiance are getting married at the Gran Porto Real in Playa del Carmen on November 8, 2013!  Right now I am slightly overwhelmed with everything and don't even know where to start!  We have 23 confirmed booked guests and possibilities of additions to add on later, but I am not going to worry about that!

I received all my forms from the Wedding Coordinator but I don't even know where to start with those!  And the fiance is in school until mid-April so I have decided not to go much further until he's back to work!  I have plans for OOT bags, Welcome packages, key card holders, luggage tags, etc. We are going to take a mini road trip to the states this summer to see how much we can get for cheap! My fiance's parents have a house in Phoenix as well and will be there the majority of the summer and able to bring us back anything we have shipped to them!

Happy planning everyone! Any tips and suggestions on anything and everything will be helpful!

Just remember (as i have been told) its your day and your guest can take care of themselves. So no do not worry about how many guest  and who books later. I do though have to worry of a BM doesnt want to go with anyone but refuses to pay the single rate. She hasnt booked and I afraid she might back out. I have talk to her about forking over money for her extra amount but she said she was fine with it all and she was staying in the same hotel. Then i get a call from the TA and she said something completely different to her.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
