It really is in A LOT of magazines, and I would HATE to think all these magazines are saying such great things about it if it were a scam!

Evidently, the make up is legit, but it's the discount email that's shady. Aside from various people complaining that they receive the make up late when they order it from elf.com, it seems ok.

Here's a snippet from one blog about the makeup:

"Sorry folks, but it's a scam. e.l.f. is a perfectly respectable and legitimate cosmetics line, so I really doubt the emails and forum postings originated from the company itself (most likely they came from someone trying to abuse their "Refer A Friend" program by tacking their referral ID on the end of the link). Here's the rub, though: e.l.f cosmetics are ALWAYS priced at $1 each, and are widely available at grocery stores, drugstores and major retailers like Target.

In other words, this ain't high-end makeup at fire-sale prices. This is cheap makeup at regular cheap prices. The stuff could very well be an awesome bargain, but unfortunately the people buying $35 worth of it because they think it's from Bloomingdale's are getting tricked, and that needs to stop. Tell your friends, and for the love of God, stop forwarding that email."

  • 3 weeks later...

I got my order today too!

I just checked it out quickly, haven't tested it yet. I liked the nailpolish colors I picked, I need to try out the lipsticks. I ordered an eye set, came with eyelashes, mascara, eyeshadow and a couple of other things and they actually gave me two of them, I feel like I have a LOT of eyeshadow, lol!

Just FYI ladies...

I bought a bunch of ELF products to put in my bridesmaids goodie bags. I just recieved my shipment with only 1/4 of the stuff I ordered. There was a slip of paper that said all my other stuff was on backorder and they would refund my money for the missing merchandise. They didn't inform me of this when I ordered or even when they confirmed that my order had shipped.

Just beware and order early!

I got my stuff yesterday along with the same note.. although I think everything was in my package. I think that's sooo rude. At least they aren't keeping your money while they wait for backorder stuff to come in, but still..

I believe you can find these products at Target. I only ordered online because of the discount code to save some money. Maybe try there to find the remaining makeup... my order seemed to take a long time too.. although, they didn't charge my card until it shipped.

they charged me right away and I ordered about 2 weeks ago and it just shipped this week. I had the same note and was missing two items, but I think I had an extra item, so I guess it doesn't really matter, its probably $2.00 I'm missing.

So I tried a couple of things:

the moisture lip care (I think thats what its called) its kind of like chapstick with color, I liked it for something to wear to work, because I don't usually wear lipstick everyday, but a little bit of gloss & color is good. I bought two of those and like them.

I also bought the plumping lips (I think thats what its called, its supposed to make your lips look bigger) I didn't think it did anything to make them look bigger and it had an awful taste, like menthol, I could imagine FI tasting that when they say "you may kiss your bride" and not wanting to kiss me again the rest of the night! And the color didn't really show up at all, my lips just looked glossy. So, I would not recommend this one.

Thats all I've tried so far, I'll let you know about the rest.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
