Thanks for sharing PuntaBride!!
At the bank I work at, all my co-workers speak Spanish... I guess I should start learning.... May also take a Spanish class this summer since my college degree I'm working on calls for a humanity class. )
Now of course I'm going to have to ask... How do you brush your teeth in DR? A water bottle? (I had to do that in a cabin we stayed in in the mountains with well water.. Ewwww! We had to change cabins the next day bc I refused to take a bath in it. )
I will also check out Gran Bahia's!.. Thanks! )

Dominican is lovely and has an amazing stretch of beach. The only downsides are the language barrier (which is not a big deal) and you cannot drink the water (even for brushing your teeth). Mexico is my least favourite. Jamaica is my all time favourite!
I just spoke to a wedding specialist at Marlin Travel. She ranked my resort choices in the following order, Gran Bahia Esmeralda, Majestic Elegance, Gran Bahia Ambar (adults only). Gran Bahia seems to have great prices and is beautiful. Everyone that I know goes there has nothing but good things to say.
