May 2013 Brides

I was having a hard time, but loved the Dreams options.  I have had friends and family stay with them before and they LOVED it!  Just read over what you can.  But, it help to start sending emails to the wedding planners so you can find out what days and times are open so that way you can get what you want!  Good Luck

I say book it and give your self time to think about it.  The nice thing about Dreams and Now Resorts is that the wedding deposit is 100% refundable as long as you cancel 6+ month prior to the event. But at least you know your date is confirmed, which might not be a true statement if you wait to long.  April thru June wedding dates get booked up pretty quick in the Riviera Maya. I initially had a deposit at two locations just to secure the date until My Fi and I could decide.

Congrats to all future brides! I'm assisting in the planning for my sister's may 2013 wedding in Jamaica. We are naturalized Kingstonians but live all over the place now. Wedding is to be at a villa about 30 mins from Montego Bay. So excited! already researching and interviewing vendors and plan on diy'ing most decor and flowers so my summer will be spent experimenting as i have never been interested in diy, but i guess i got bitten by the bug! look forward to sharing with you all!

Hi!  I am also a May 2013 bride - we are getting married in Jamaica.  Our wedding is May 26 - Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend.

It seems like the other brides on this thread have similar ideas to our plans for the wedding weekend.  We (bride/groom) and our families plan to fly into Jamaica on Wednesday.  We figure most of our guests will come in Friday - Monday/Tuesday.  For the weekend our events/plans are:  Friday is a welcome dinner for everyone.  Saturday will be a daytime booze cruise to Margartiaville and to snorkel - my parents will be paying for this so everyone is invited, just depends who wants to come.  Saturday we will also do a quick rehearsal, just the wedding party and then have a dinner/beach bonfire at night on the beach for all our guests.  Sunday will be the ceremony/reception.  Monday we plan to do a brunch for everyone as well.

Yay, can't wait!

If I can figure out how too I will post our save-the-dates.  My FI happens to be a graphic designer so we are making all our own save-the-dates, invites, programs, etc, etc.  We also made our engagement party invites for our party last month.  We took the save-the-date idea from someone on Etsy but re-created it ourselves.  If anyone wants I can email them our Illustrator file if they want to play with designing their own too!

Hey ladies!! I'm another May 2013 bride. The 28th in Punta Cana. We'll be heading out on the 25th, and I didn't realize until now that it's the Memorial Day Weekend for you American ladies. I'm assuming lots of people will be traveling for the long weekend. I'm Canadian so I'm just wondering to myself if we'll be affected.

How far along is everyone with their planning? That's what I'm curious to know! So far we have our venue and photographer booked, we're waiting on pricing for our resort and we have our wedding parties picked. And I have my dress. :)

I'm a May 2013 bride, as well!  May 4 is our date, and we're a Playa del Carmen wedding.

We've been planning for a while, but we're just now to the point that we can start booking things, so I'm getting all kinds of nervous butterflies (the good kind)!  We're in the process this week & next of telling our friends about the event & asking the wedding party to be part of our day.

I'm sending STDs in the next couple of weeks.  Perhaps that's early, but I really want to put something concrete in everyone's hands to remind them of our location & date.  It'll be the first big wedding thing for us, so I'm incredibly excited about it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
