Hi Everyone,

I have been reading through posts for a while now and thought I should take the plunge and introduce myself.  I am going to be getting married in 2013, no date chosen yet or location.  There is so much information to read but this site has really helped me narrow down my choices.  So far my favorites are the Sun Palace and Playacar Palace resorts and the Azul Sensatori resorts.  The Dream resorts seem nice too.  The one request my fiance has is that our ceremony needs to be in a private area which is why I really like the Sun Palace which has the sky terrace.

Any recommendations are welcomed and thanks to everyone who has put so much work into their posts.  It is so helpful.

Hi, welcome and congrats!

I just wanted to let you know- Sun Palace does not have a sky terrace- that is where I am getting married.

You are thinking of Beach Palace! :)

Palace resorts offer great perks for wedding packages if you have a large group coming- I have 43 people and my reception and cocktail hour are free! :)

But communication with the Miami office (who you will be in contact with until 30-90 days before your wedding- after that, you will talk with your on-site wedding coordinator in Mexico) can be hard for some people if they do not have an attentive contact person.  I have Janessa in Miami and she is great!! I think she is for Sun and Beach! She emails me back within a few hours of my emails!

Best advice- get a good Travel agent who can help you with booking so you do not have to directly work with Palace Resorts to book the hotel!  It will save you TONS of headaches! :)

Good Luck and happy planning! :)

welcome.gif to another fellow Canadian bride!!! Congrats on your engagment and on picking a DW!

I am getting married at Azul Sensatori, and I know they have a sky deck for private ceremonies. The Azul Sensatori thread is huge, but has a ton of useful information from past and present brides! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/23412/azul-sensatori-brides-post-here If you have any specifc questions about the AS, feel free to PM me :)

I concur with shan0487- find a great TA! I found one at Flight Centre- I've used them forever, and they have TA's that just do destination weddings. TAs are lifesavers if you've never planned a destination event, which the majority of us haven't!

You should also join the Canadian brides thread... http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/74816/canadian-brides

Good luck with your planning!

Ahh...I have a sigh of relief as I finally booked our wedding.  For the last month, I've been debating when/where.  I've spent hours looking at all of the info.  You will make the right decision....sounds like you are putting a lot of thought into it.  Good luck and happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
