@Mlite83 you definitely helped me, I just emailed concierge with my questions that would concern them, I'm sure they are slightly less busy than Pilar! Thanks so much!

I also am getting no responses from Pilar. I have lots planned but my big concern is the extra cost/total I will be paying. That would be nice to have from her. I'm sure she will come through when its our turn. If you need any advice or have questions let me know. Our wedding dates are sneaking up fast!!

Are you bringing vases down for your wedding?

We also haven't received a response from Pilar in almost a week.  We sent her our original planning form and got her invoice, which we almost threw up on haaha, so we adjusted some things and sent back a revised planning form, now just waiting for a revise bill.

I know everything falls together, but it's so hard to let go of the control!  We're in Ontario, our travel agent is in BC, and then throw Pilar into the mix, aned everything just takes forever!  So stressful.

As an aside- I just took a trip to Ikea yesterday and got a ton of stuff, white table lanterns, artificial orchids (which actually look pretty nice), and they have cylindrical vases on for $9.99 - a set of three, so we bought 3 sets- haven't figured out how we're transporting them yet...

On top of that, I have sent 4 unanswered emails to pilar - including our planning guide-and have heard nothing back. I guess with her it is what it is. When we visited in jan, she made us feel completely at ease - but a simple acknowledgement would be nice. I have also sent multiple emails to the concierge regarding our excursions - no answer there either. Anybody have any tips?? Less than 6 weeks today, and I need the loose ends tied. Mostly just venting, but arghhhhh

It's hard to get used to the way they operate, when things here are so much faster!  At work, I freak if one or two days go by without a response to one of my emails, because I think something might be wrong, LOL.

What sorts of things do you have planned for excursions?

Just a note about your invoice - during your planning meeting with Pilar she goes over all of your details, requests, special notes etc and then will revise the invoice if necessary at that point...for us she had to remove an entree (last minute cancellation) and add on the two day passes for our photographer.  We didn't fret too much about our initial invoice knowing we could cancel/change/add to once we met with her.

We are getting married on Nov 22, 2013 and we have been working with Deisy to setup a Dj for us. We have heard good things about DJ Doremix so we requested them. I just got a message back stating that Doremix raised there prices this year and the resort is not using them as a resort DJ anymore. I'm assuming this is for new bookings like us. She stated we could still use Doremix but the charge would be a bit more, which we dont want to pay for. Deisy stated they now use AVI Company. Has anyone had them as their DJ? Any other DJ tips or suggestions?

We are planning a mens golf day (day before the wedding) and a ladies shopping/beach day in Playa the same day.  We are also planning a deep sea fishing event.  If I took this long to respond to a client - I would be job hunting. lol

you're kidding?!  We have our planner working with Pilar, and she supposedly has already been in contact with our DJ- I just assumed it was Doremixx, I better double check that.   I just tried googling AVI, but didn't come up with any hits...

I booked DJ Doremixx through Deisy a few months ago and she said everything was fine.  I was told I would get two hours of DJ time for the live music I don't really want, then I will add an additional $150 per hour.  I have not heard anything else regarding this, so I would assume it is for new bookings.

I specified DJ Doremixx when I requested our DJ.  Deisy contacted them for me and scheduled them for our wedding.. I've heard nothing about any additional fees outside of the cost for additional hours.  I really hope that I still get DJ Doremixx since that's what I was told and that's what I wanted.  I would be surprised, though, if they change it on people who are already booked.

I've also found nothing on AVI.

This is so strange.  They have availability startign the 26th - but our wedding is on the 24th - so that doesnt work so well.  I was able to get an initial quote in Jan - so I already had time to see it, puke, re work it and feel better about it.  Still an additional $6k...

I am not bringing any vases - I am shipping down what I can, and it is more cost effective to just rent what I need.
