FYI Castaways is an open air restaurant so it is not air conditioned at all. From previous reviews I have read it can get very hot during receptions but I used the Bamboo Room so I can't speak to that from my experiences. It is where many people eat lunch since it is right beside the pool on the non-preferred side. When we were there is was open for dinner once I think but it is mostly a lunch or snack type restaurant again due to location.

PS: you are getting married on my birthday :D i hope your day is perfect, cant wait to hear all about it as I will be leaving shortly after you return home!

I can send you the entire .pdf if that would be helpful? PM me your email address if you want.

I'm not sure about the Columns and Arrangements (2), I'm a bit confused if that's what's on the pergola or if that's included in the Divine package. Maybe someone else can clarify for us :)

The arrangements on the pergola are included if you have the divine package - I would assume if you were using another ceremony site they would have something similar but I'm not certain since I used the pergola. I think they price them incase you are using another package or doing a la carte pricing.

According to my PDF, the premium ones are $185. Still not sure where $350 is coming from...

I know they charge $350 as a penalty if you bring outside flowers in....could that be it?

geez, I was off here for a week, and now I have 16 pages of comments to read!! LOL

Centerpieces are hard to think about, but here are my suggestions... 1 - Blume boxes. They are "vases" that fold flat and you can decorate them however you want and put the bridesmaid flowers in them for the reception. They have them in so many colors and I ordered a few to see and with a little decoration on them, they are great. Why spend $500 on something that is going to die that night??? 2 - No flowers. At Michaels (the craft store), David Tutera has a huge wedding section. I found these paper things that are flat but you fold them to make them look like lamp shades. You slip them over the top of a wine glass and can put an led light in the glass. They are very pretty. That also have cylinders that are made of vellum paper that you can print whatever you want on them at home.

I love the idea of Blume boxes! I googled them, and you can do some cute stuff to spruce them up :)Blumebox.jpg

WOW that isnt bad compared to the $350 per centerpiece from the resort. & yes i totally understand not wanting to spend so much on something like flowers... As of now I am thinking I will bring some type of DIY centerpeices and possibly rent vases from the resort (I read somewhere on here where i girl did this) just so I won't have to bring all those vases with me... maybe an option you may want to consider. Request pics I would love to see what they can do!!!

Heard back from Maya Floral ALREADY! That was fast!   Here are some photos I sent them and what I was quoted (btw my colors are peach/white):

1.) Quoted $65 flo4.jpg

2.) Quoted $55 flo3.jpg

3.) Quoted $75 flor 7.jpg

4.) Quoted $95 mdf 7990.JPG

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
