Lots of Iberostar brides here! I haven't been to Jamaica yet but I am still SO excited to get married there. Hearing from all of the other brides really helps ease any concerns that I have along the way.

Looking forward to your review! I vacationed at the Jewel Runaway Bay in May and loved it so much, I'm considering it for my wedding. But there is hardly any info on the Jewel resorts here.

  • 6 months later...

Sorry ladies, not using Dwayne Watkins anymore, turned out to be the biggest mistake when negotiating, we hadnt signed any contracts yet and wanted to change dates and he told us he has to keep all the money, then he sent half back! Then cancelled. Im complaining about his tardiness and lack of communication and trying to lock us in a contract when his contract requires a signature and money and we havent signed! Worst person and attitude ever and very greedy. We are now looking elsewhere. Please beware!!!! Nightmare to deal with and slow!

We are sorry that you had a bad experience with our pre-consultations.  The majority of our clients are very happy.  The reservation fee was charged specifically to reserve that date for you; to hold it for you and no other. Period..  You changed your date 3 times over the course of a few months, and we never once forfeited your fee.  We changed the date very willingly without penalty, even though we lost revenue by turning away other clients.  As a courtesy, although not required, we decided to refund 50% of the reservation fee, after your communication became less than favorable.  Having a positive relationship going forward became very difficult, and it was obvious we wouldnt be a "good fit" as your photographers.  Our relationship with our brides are very important to us.  It is clearly reflected in the images and moments we capture on their day.    Really sorry things turned out this way.  We continue to wish you nothing but the best.

thanks.

Thank you Cherina,

I have a couple in my radar who Im really excited about but I will look into Merrick Cousley for sure, got some quotes too! I cant believe the mess and nightmare Dwayne has put us in and all because my baby needs an operation and I needed to change the date before we signed anything that would lock us in. I would never put my wedding before my sons health, not even if he offered me the day for FREE.

Warning brides........DONT GO THERE!!! WORST MISTAKE EVER

Nevertheless I am really happy about my wedding! hired a celebrity chef for awesome cuisine, great wedding planner.

Candid Expressions Photography look good too.

Hi! I just wanted to put this out there. I posted awhile back on this thread that i decided to go with Dwayne Watkins and honestly that was the BEST decision my husband and i made!!! I can't stress enough to future brides that you want to make sure you have a great photographer. Photos/videos are the ONLY thing you will have after your big day to showcase your lifechanging experience! i cried when i saw my pictures. Things did not go exactly as i planned but the way my wedding was captured in my photos reminded me that i indeed had my dream wedding with my husband family and friends :-) Dwayne was very professional and gave my husband alot of great advice to help us make our day run smoothly. Also, some things went unexpected ( such as my cake fell over at the beginning of the reception, still have no idea how it happened, wind, weather...no clue) and Dwayne stepped in the help coordinate when that was not his job at all, and at the same time still managed for him and his assistant to take photos of everything lol ! My husband and I were truly thankful to have genuine people around us.

You can see some of my pictures on Dwaynes blog

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
