My fiancée and I were wishing to get married on Feb2013, so maybe it might be already too late to book for that date? damm!

Anyway, we sent an email to the yesterday (since the phone on the page didn't worked) requesting all the information, now he just have to wait until hey reach us back..

Thanks for all your comments and advices! I was able to find a bunch of useful information around here :)

Yeah, hopefully you will have some luck.  Just tell them whether you are doing Civil or Symbolic ceremony and the dates you will be there.  They will send you back any open time slots.  Then you need to decide on a dinner venue and get that booked (if you are having one).  Lots of decisions to make right up front!

Thank you I will be contacting the hotel now to see if I can reserve our date! Are all you brides using a TA for yourselfs and your guest to book through? To reserve our date with the resort is there a deposit? We are unsure about the dinner there as we are have a AHR. Is anyone else not having a private reception ? And how does it work just to have space in one of the regular buffet sections?

I'm using a TA for everything.  We use Marlin Travel.  There is no deposit to book a date, weird ... I know.

A dinner in one of the a la carte restuarants is free.  They make a big long table for you and your guests and try to give a little bit of privacy.  Then you can go to the disco when it opens at 11.  Or pay extra to have a private area to have drinks/dance until 11.

Hi Girls!

I just recently got engaged and started looking at destinations weddings. I very quickly realized that I need to start booking immediately (since we want to get married May 2013) as it is a busy time and dates get filled up quickly. I managed to get the date that we wanted (May 6th 2013) at the Majestic Colonial, but I did not get the photographer we wanted. I read so many great reviews about Photophil (Phil Steingard) and saw the photos that he has done and immediately wanted to book him, however upon contacting his office, I was advised that he does not have my date available :(
Can anyone recommend any Punta Cana photographers that do great work?

Thank you!!

Hey Girls!

I just recently got engaged and was starting to research destinations weddings when I stubled upon this site. This is a great help, and thank you to all those that contribute. I quickly realized that I need to figure out where and when we want to get married. I have since then booked our wedding at the Majestic Colonial for May 6, 2013. Yeayyy!
The other thing i realized I needed to do right away as well was to book the photographer. I same a lot of other brides photos and review and Photophil (Phil Steingard) came highly recommended and I also liked his style. Unfortunately, today I found out that is is already booked for our date.

Can any of you ladies suggest other great Punta Cana photographers that I could look into?

Thank you!

We are in the same position.  Our wedding will be at 1:00pm, dinner at 6:30.  I have no idea what I want to do with time in between.  I am still hoping for a later ceremony time, even if it means changing the day of the ceremony, as long as it falls within the time we are there.  Do you have any ideas?

I have heard of people changing and going back to the pool/beach for the afternoon then changing again ... it's an option.  Someone suggested getting a white bikini that said "just married" lol  I also don't want the party to get started too early and have everyone smashed before dinner even starts ... Eek!  I could see this happening.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
