Hi everyone!

So my wedding is about 2 months away. I'm in the process of picking cocktail hr food and also main entree food! Can anyone that has already had their wedding give me any input on the good and bad? Thanks!

Hello Again!

For those that are having a Catholic wedding in the Chapel would you please consider sharing your program with me? I am so stumped for how I want to design it and what should be included. An example I could start with would be so helpful! Thank you :D

I'm not going to bother with a wedding program, but please let us see what you come up with. I'm not sure which forum

Topic I found it under, but some people have shared their drafts/templates on this site. Just not this thread. Happy hunting :)

Hi Brides!

I am about 90% finalized on my wedding coming up in May. I was just about to pay my last installment when the wedding coordinator sprung an additional $400.00 for food for my outside vendors. No where in my contract does it say food for outside vendors was $80/plate. I asked the coordinator to point it out and she said it was no where in the contract but that is what I need to pay. I am SO ANGRY! I asked her how the resort could just pull a random number from the top of their head and require the bride to pay without telling them upfront? She is refusing to waive the fee. I just don't know what to do. It's completely unfair!

I was also surprised to find out it was $80 for the 4 course meal for outside vendors. It's only $60 pax if your guest is a "Real guest". Otherwise they feel they can charge you ridiculous amounts.. As if they didn't milk enough money off us with the outside vendor fee.

I was really annoyed too but there is no way around it.

Final payment made!!! :D CAD $ - USD $ conversion almost made me choke. But I'm soooo happy May is just around the corner!

Wow, thats horrible! Have you tried to talk to someone else about this? Very unprofessional. I hope things get resolved for you.

I tried talking to the manager but she was even worse than the wedding coordinator. They made it known that they are 'waiving' the day pass for my vendors ($140.00/pp) and only charging me an $80.00 meal per person. It makes me wonder what the $350.00 vendor fee covers? LOL

Oh well...as long as no more surprises happen!

The wedding coordinator also mentioned that the vendors were not allowed any food or drink throughout the day either since I am not paying the day pass, ha! So silly!

Wow I did not know this, but I'm not overly surprised. If it weren't for the gorgeous beach and the chapel I'd be so disappointed I picked this resort because of their outrageous fees!

I feel your pain. How is it costing them $20 more to feed an outside vendors?? We are paying $350 for the vendor fee. The vendors do not even get unlimited drinks or food perks. At the very least they could charge their dinner the same rate as every other guest.

Even trying to get white tiffany chairs instead of folding chairs will cost something. White tiffany chairs are supposedly standard just like the folding chairs, but subject to availability. To guarantee your choice, you have to pay $10 per chair. Why should I pay for something that should come STANDARD??

I'm getting married on April 11, 2014 and have hired Octavio Montes as my photographer. We're so excited to work with him! I actually found him after reading several great blogs about Octavio's work on this forum.  After looking at his website, my soon to be husband and myself, were very impressed with his work. His prices are reasonable and his work looks amazing. Counting the days now...so excited!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
