2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

Has anyone having a Catholic wedding had difficulty getting in touch with the priest? We fedexed our documents down over a month ago. I have confirmation from the tracking number, but I was hoping to have the church themselves tell me that nothing was missing. I've sent 4 emails and still nothing. Anyone else? I also want to set up a meeting with the priest for when we get there to discuss last minute items for the mass. As of now we haven't submitted our reading choices or anything. Anyone else? I know I should just pick up the phone and call but I usually handle these things in my short breaks at work so emails are much easier to deal with...

Check him out

I looked at hi website and it does seem as though he does excellent work.  I he pretty affordable?  Will you have to pay the $350 "outside vendor" fee?  Do you know how he compares to the work and prices that GCR photographers offer?  Thanks for sharing your findings of Samuel!

For brides that have been married or are planning their wedding - what has your experience been with Estela? Any and all information would be greatly appreciative !!! Also any information or tips from this point on would be great with communication with the wedding planner and organizing up until the big day !!!!

Thanks so much !!

My WC is Estela too!  I just recently spoke with her over the phone last weekend to discuss booking out reception location.  She does speak English, however, her accent is a bit thick.  So it's not super hard to understand her, but I did have to ask her to repeat some things.  Since I understand Spanish, I just had her speak Spanish to me.  Anyways, so far, she's been good at providing me all the info I had ask for.  And she has been quick to reply to her emails.  Her hours are good too....she works from 2pm-10pm central time, Sun-Thurs, which is good because she's available after your "work hours" and on Sundays if you're not working.

Our on-site coordinator set up a meeting with the priest for us. I brought my chosen readings and he just asked what they were and was happen I had them chosen. He said it works best if each reader brings a copy of their reading up to the pulpit so I asked my wedding coordinator to make fresh copies for the wedding day and it wasn't an issue. We had forgotten to choose someone for the psalm, but quickly asked a relative and it worked out okay. Just make sure to bring the original letter from your parish and your baptism certificates and it should be fine.

Hi all! Congratulations to everyone! I love this site and I'm not getting married until July 2015 sooooo reading all these posts and different things are exciting but nerve wrecking. I have made notes and changed my mind 50 times. We are at a stand still until the 2015 prices are posted. I was wondering if the pricing was majorly different between the Royal and Gran Caribe? I love what the Royal offers but want to still make things affordable for my guests. I watched on the webinar last month and they remodeled so the terrace doesn't have the green floor anymore. Since I'm new to the site I am not able to view pics or videos. If anyone doesn't mind can you please email me the information [email protected] Thanks and happy planning!!!

I really wanted to reply to mariposa6102 concerns. I have been several times to cancun and surrounding areas. We have done most of all the tourist excursions, malls, etc. it is very safe all over from isla mujeres to tulum. We even rent a cheap little car when we go and take off on our own adventures. Since we have done the excursions we like to find more local things. We go to cenotes too. We ride the bus that runs up and down Cancun. Also safe and cheap! You have to realize that there only way of life is tourism. There is no other industry. So not only do they do it well but they are great people! They also have classes for the employees even fairy pilots take to all learn hospitality, and English. So please venture out. It's beautiful. Several recommendations if anyone interested.

I do not know about the TTD but have visited @4 cenotes. Your photographer would know and send you I to. But the are small so I imagine that he will go to one that is more private because they are open to public and it's very cheap. Like $3 dollars. Plus they have become very popular the last 2 years and I have noticed they are trying to turn them into more of a tourist thing. So there would be people in the way. They now have restrooms & snacks. Lol our TTD is super early at a cenote in July. Not sure where. My photo guy has awesome pis so I'm just going with whatever he says.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
