  1. I was really worried about taking it on the plane, if they would let me or what would happen if they didnt let me take it! But i did not have any issues. It was in my carry bag with some other wedding things and it never got questioned. The only thing they ever questioned in my carryon was the unity candle. I think because of how dense it was ...
  2. The rock background is down the beach. We walked to it, he took pictures the whole way. I don't know about any must have shots- we just let him have total control. I thought the pictures were going to be awful because the sun was so bright I could not stop squinting my eyes! But somehow he worked around it and we got beautiful shots. I would just say to put total trust in him, he is amazing. I did not want to walk the whole beach in my shoes so his assistant was kind enough to carry them for me. I cannot say enough good things
  3. Hi, Thanks! You will be so happy with Sascha! He is truly amazing. We ended up with over 600 pictures that are all gorgeous! Our ceremony was about 50 minutes to an hour- so about the same as a regular mass. It seemed to go by so fast though!
  4. the classic catholic package- i dont think its an option anymore though
  5. Thank you! We got all 600+ to look through yesterday. They are amazing!! Did you end up booking him? If you did you will definitely not regret it- he is phenomenal. He captured every single moment- looking at the pictures was like reliving the day. So fabulous!

  7. I tried to copy and paste the link: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/gran-caribe-real-resort-spa-all-inclusive/reviews/7126 Otherwise it is listed at the bottom of the page in the brown box under "recent reviews" for now.
  8. We chose to do the lasso, bible and unity candle. However the priest asked us what we were doing and he said none of them are required, they are all just traditions. We had a full mass as well and it didnt add too much time to the whole ceremony- maybe an extra 5 minutes. But they are definitely not required.
  9. I finally posted my review on the GCR Vendor Review page. I put up some pics of the flowers and decorations as well. I hope this helps in your planning
  10. We had guests staying at both resorts, we stayed at the Royal. We found it was easy to spend time with both groups. The GCR group obviously couldnt come hang out with us at the royal so we just made sure to have some plans with them at the beach during the day or at the lobby bar after dinner on some of the days. We had a group of 8 staying at the GCR and they all hung out together so we didnt feel bad when we wanted to relax and stay at the Royal because we knew they were all together.
  11. It was $70 for hair and $60 for make-up. I stayed at the royal, so my hair and make-up was done at the royal. I believe there is a spa/salon at the gran caribe. I would just tell your WC your preferences when you book the appointment.
  12. It will be here before you know it! Enjoy the planning
  13. We had all our hair and makeup done at the resort and they did a fabulous job! My mom was not happy with her make up at first and they totally redid it for her- no problem! I was very impressed with their skills and professionalism.
  14. I know I am dying to see them!! I know the contract was 40 edited pictures per hour plus all unedited photos. I would assume digital, but I guess I never asked! I will let you know I paid everything on paypal, that way it was easier to not have to remember to bring anything. I paid online before we left for the trip- but then we met with him and decided to add an extra hour so I ended up using our resorts free wifi and my smart phone to make the last paypal payment. We were able to meet with him a couple days before the wedding which was very comforting for me. He said he likes to try and arrange a meeting if his schedule allows before the wedding day.
  15. Hi! I just got married in Cancun and flew AirTran through funjet. I carried my dress on in a garment bag and had no issues. It did get folded in half and put in an over head bin, but the flight attendant blocked the bin so no one else put anything in there. It helped that the plan was not very full. I did not pay extra and it was no hassle. I did have an appointment to have the dress steamed before the wedding so I wasnt worried about it being folded.
  16. Hi! I sent some pictures of my wedding to you. Check your inbox! Let me know if you want to see anything else
  17. Hi Beth! I just used Sascha for my wedding. He was very professional. We had a 4pm ceremony, Sascha was there from 2:30-8:30. I did not want any getting ready photos just as personal preference. My husband had to be at the ceremony site by 3:30. I would say an hour if you want pictures on the beach beforehand and maybe another 30 minutes for getting ready. We had originally booked him for only 5 hours (until 7:30pm) but decided practically the day before we wanted more reception pictures so we added the extra hour (7:30-8:30). We had such an amazing time at the wedding I am glad we added the extra hour to get pictures of everything. That would be my one recommendation- don't skimp on hours to regret not having him there! Any other questions feel free to private message me!
  18. If you choose a catholic wedding package, the priest is included in the package cost!
  19. We had an open bar at the cocktail hour and the private reception. The open bar does include top shelf liquor that is not normally made available at the resort. I looked back at my receipts and it seems like it was included in the private reception. I was expecting to pay extra during the cocktail hour, but the WC told me that since a champagne toast was included and I upgraded to a private cocktail hour that the open bar was included. I didn't really understand that logic, but hey I wasn't about to fight something they were tossing in for free! I would say if you have to pay extra, I wouldnt be too upset since it is different and higher class liquor than usually served.
  20. Hi I just got married in the chapel. I did have it in my package, however, after going through the process, I would think they will just add it onto your final payment checklist/spreadsheet when you get 45 days out. Just make sure everything is listed and with the price you were expected.
  21. Michael from All Inclusive Vacations was awesome! The company is based out of WI but works with people across the US.
  22. Amols was great for the maracas! I put maraca tags on mine that said "Stand and shake with all your might, to see the groom kiss his bride tonight" I ordered the custom maraca tags from an esty seller DarbyCards. They were great to work with, I definitely recommend them as well to those looking for tags to put on your maracas.
  23. We just had our wedding at the chapel. We choose to do the lasso and bible traditions, along with a unity candle and (of course) the rings! It all went well. Our wedding planner set up a meeting with the priest 2 days before our ceremony. He was awesome! We had our 2 readings and response picked out before hand and everything was easy. He had a bible incase we needed to pick out the readings with him. He said it would be easiest to have the readings printed out and each person bring up their own. Our wedding coordinator was kind enough to copy them and it was flawless. One question I had that I never got a real answer to was if we had to be confirmed in the catholic church to get married. I am confirmed and my husband is not. That was never even an issue. All we needed was our baptism certificates and no one asked about any other sacraments. I hope that helps if you had any questions!
  24. Hi! I just used a brooch bouquet for my wedding and my photographer loved it! He said the light reflecting off of the brooches looked very cool in the pictures. I was lucky enough that a lot of my grandmothers and great grandmothers had brooches I was able to use. Otherwise I used the website www.fabulousbrooch.com to supplement some other brooches. I think I ended up spending about $100 total on supplies from hobby lobby and the brooches I purchased. I so scared to make it because I am not crafty at all but it was so easy! I am so excited it turned out perfectly!
