What's the deal with FF ? Do they charge a vendor fee since they aren't the "preferred" floral vendor ? And how does that work ? What if 3 people come to set up my stuff, do I get charged for all three people @ $100 a head ? I emailed TF at least 2 months ago and have heard nothing. It's a shame they are preferred  ... anyways ... does FF rent all the same stuff TF does (tent,dance floor, linens, etc) ? Anyone have any kind of pricing ?

    Hi ladies! I have been searching to see if this question was already asked/answered but i could not find it so im going to ask again!!

     

    With regards to an "open bar" at the reception- Does anyone know if it is necessary to pay the $10/pp/hour for an open bar? I find this crazy because it is an all inclusive resort! Is there a bar at Aunt Rubys that guests could just walk to and order drinks from? I am not trying to be a cheap bride, but an extra $10/pp/hour was def not in my budget!

      Hi! I guess I'm a little late to get on this train but thought I would share some of my wedding details.

       

      Date: Saturday April 27, 2013

       

      Where: Iberostar, Rose Hall Suites

       

      When: 4:30PM Ceremony (location TBD)

                5-6:30 Cocktail Hour (s) - POOL BAR

                6:30PM Reception - Aunt Ruby's 

       

      Attendees: 75-120

       

      I'm undecided if we want to get married on the beach or not? I've heard horror stories of the wind ruining everything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really, really, want a brass band! Kind of a must for me.  As for the cocktail hour, I think it's ridiculous to pay an extra fee for this at an all- inclusive so we will just be encouraging our guests to hit up the pool house bar. Yes, you can judge me, I'm on a tight budget for this wedding and trying to cut out any extra costs anywhere I can. 

       

      As for the ceremony I think it will be necessary for us to book a private event as we already have 75 confirmed guests and we have yet to send out our formal invitations. I was hoping to get an idea of what we will need to "bring" with us to make it look formal, centerpieces, chair covers, linens, place cards etc. I'm assuming since they have a wedding just about every day I will be working with Nichole in January, as promised, to get all this solidified. By the looks of most of your posts you all are far more ahead of all this than I. Do I need to contact TLF (Tia La Floral) the preferred vendor or is this something Nichole will work with me to do in January? 

       

      Feeling slightly overwhelmed since I just discovered this forum and you all are so organized and crafty!

        There is a bar there as I heard it from my outside WC, now I'm getting married at the beach but I'm sure it's the same. I completely agree it is such a HUGE money grab.

          Congratulations and welcome to the forum! I am getting married the same day as you, but at the Beach. I am having a much smaller group, probably between 15-20 people.

           

          You will be working with Tai Flora directly, however based on other posts on this thread, you may want to try reaching out to a vendor called Floral Fantasies. The seem to be much easier to work with and more responsive than TF.

            Nicole said only $100 as long as they don't stay all day long.  I emailed FF about renting white tablecloths, she said the resort should provide them.  I just want to be sure the ones the resort provides goes to the floor.  It looks silly to me if they don't.  FF said they could get my runners for me, so I think they can supply most anything you need.  I didn't ask about a tent or dance floor though as I don't need one.  FF is quick to respond and VERY friendly!  I'd gather all of your ideas into one email and get in touch with them.  The longest I've waited for a response was 1 day. 

             

            I also e-mailed TF back in August.  I just got an email from Jodi apologizing, saying she'll answer my questions in another e-mail.. which I have not gotten...

              I just joined Best Destination Weddings and have been researching and reading reviews on Iberostar Rose Hall Suites all night (I work graveyards). 

               

              My fiance and I recently got engaged, and we are shooting for a destination wedding in 2013.  After doing research online on locations and resorts everyday since then, I think I have come to decide to that I have got my heart set on Jamaica and Iberostar Rose Hall Suites.

               

              I have a couple of questions for all of you 2013 IRHS brides:

              If your destination of choice has always been Jamaica, what other resorts were in the running prior to deciding on Iberostar Rose Hall Suites?  And ultimately, what about those resorts made you pick Iberostar Rose Hall Suites?

                My fiance and I recently got engaged, and we are shooting for a destination wedding in 2013.  After doing research online on locations and resorts everyday since then, I think I have come to decide to that I have got my heart set on Jamaica and Iberostar Rose Hall Suites.

                 

                I have a couple of questions for all of you 2013 IRHS brides:

                If your destination of choice has always been Jamaica, what other resorts were in the running prior to deciding on Iberostar Rose Hall Suites?  And ultimately, what about those resorts made you pick Iberostar Rose Hall Suites?

                  let me know what you find out about tablecloths that are floor length....  it seems as if the tables do have white floor length tablecloths with a smaller/shorter white tablecloth on top.  maybe they can just not put the shorter one on the tables for us?

                    Hi, Jenna!

                     

                    Welcome and congrats!!

                     

                    Here is my reasoning for Jamaica:

                    1) We wanted a location that people could get nonstop flights from the U.S. and that was not too far (in other words, like 4-5 hours from DC).  That got us to the Caribbean.  

                    2)  We want to get legally married at our destination wedding so we needed a place that was not too hard to get married.  That took out Mexico. 

                    3)  We wanted to get married in English and have the paperwork in English.  This took us to the Bahamas and Jamaica. 

                    4)  We wanted an all inclusive.  I couldn't find any I liked in the Bahamas.

                     

                     

                    Here is my reasoning for IRHS:

                    1) Close to main airport.  IRHS is only 15 minutes.

                    2)  Good food.  IRHS supposably has great food. 

                    3)  Affordable.  

                    4)  Great reviews.  

                    5) One wedding

                    6) Highly recommended by our TA.

                    7)  IRHS seems to have the most active forums for Jamaica.  I think that means happy brides and excited engaged folks.

                    8)  The beach.

                     

                    I originally booked our wedding at Grand Palladium in Jamaica.  After reading reviews and talking to my TA, she HIGHLY discouraged me from getting married there.  The wedding reviews were really up and down and the same with traveler reviews.  It is also like an hour from the airport and has a man made beach.
