2012 Riu Sante Fe Brides

Recommended Posts

Hey all. I am getting married at the sante fe on feb 24, 2014 at 4pm on the beach. Booking that was the easy part! It's the dinner/reception I am having trouble with. It seems the only private location is the Patio Ingles. Has anyone used this location? How was the set up? Did you have a dance/dj set up as well? At 600$ for the space, $36 min for meal and $12 per person for open bar...$50 min total per person. For an all inclusive resort I hope the food and drinks and set up would be prefect. No flaws. Anyone have any info on this? I've been so the resort twice and loved it, I am iffy tho on location. I wanted to have my reception on the beach :(

Do you have the 2014 pricing list already? I dont think it has come out yet, they seem to change the options every year and i believe in 2013 the private place was the english garden(plate service) or the asian or steakhouse (private but dont pay per plate)

Im having more then 50 people attending my wedding so we are unable to use the semi private room for the dinner as you automatically have to book a private event when you have over that number. ALSO you can have a bar at a private event (not at the semi private)

I am march 31, 2014 so im in the same boat.

Suzanne Morel is an amazing salon.  It is expensive but well worth the money.  My bridesmaids and I got our hair and makeup done there and everyone looking beautiful.  I would highly recommend her salon.  GREAT RESULTS!!!!

Hi Sandy,  I got married at the Santa fe in February on the beach, and between time there is the bars at the beach open till 6 and there is snacks usually at the steakhouse restaurant by the beach till about 4.  Our guests sat at the bar and pulled tables together in between the ceromony and reception, the best part is its Free!  you kind of just do it and no one questions it!  good luck and congrats
Arla, I read your resort review which was very helpful.. Thank u! I saw you had the 3pc mariachi band for your ceremony... Can u tell me more about this ? Do you happen to have a video?

hi,

planning for a wedding in Cabo May 2015, and, I know it's early in the process, but being a total TypeA, I want to ensure I've got the details down and know what we're in for.  We are thinking of a few options, one of them being staying at an all incl. but having the wedding off location.  Looked at la Casa de Mona Lisa.  Received an email from them, but would love to hear what anyone elses' experience has been.  Just wondering if the food and atmosphere is really worth the price.  From what I can see, with our estm. list of 40 people attending (?), open bar for 2 hours, the food option #6, it's going to be close to $10,000.  That's not even including any other vendors...  hmmmm..... resort wedding perhaps?..head spinning.... We were hoping to keep the total budget under $15,000CAD.

We will be flying from Calgary, and the reason for the off-resort choice would be for privacy reasons, best options for photos, really great food(!!), and service, above all else.  The guests coming to the wedding may not be all staying with us at the same resort, and I know there are costs incurred at any resort to pay for additional guests for the day of the wedding... Trying to figure out the best of all worlds.... advice gladly appreciated :)

hello! I am getting married at the Riu in Feb 2014.

it was asked on this thread if the Santa Fe offers beach receptions?

would anyone know the answer to this?

I don't want to rent the disco as I imagine it to be pretty lame, dancing with and in front of 20 people, BUT I really want a first dance!

hopefully someone can help me out! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
