  1. We will all be coming from Canada, and the 1week AI prices for flight and accommodations run somewhere around $1500-$1800 for the week, so, if it's any consolation, your prices are very reasonable from where you are! I figure, if the guests really want to be there, they will make efforts to do so. Those that cannot, well, we'll miss your faces on our special day, but no hard feelings, we'll show ya pics when we come home
  2. T Thank you for the review! I've recently sent a message to a WC locally to help me sort through things. I figured might be nice to have some help!
  3. Congratulations on your engagement! We picked May 4, 2015 (anniversary of the first day we met), and decided on Cabo due to the likely sunny holiday we will have (they boast sun 360 days per year), we have some golfers in the bunch and there's plenty of that close by, for some family that are a little less adventurous when it comes to vacations, we figured Cabo had a safer feel than some other locations, and the ease of flights for all coming, since some are coming from smaller towns with less airport access. Hope that helps, and good luck! My Fiancée has been to Jamaica, but it's somewhere I've always wanted to see! I'm sure it will be a beautiful wedding!!
  4. Hello out there! May 2015 bride-to-be here, and thrilled! Just when I think I've thought about nailing down a decision, I find out new info, and change my mind, good thing I've got so much time. My fiancé and I are planning for Cabo, on the sand wedding is my dream, and really unsure as to what location. We plan on keeping the numbers, hopefully between 30-50 guests (depends who wants to come on vacation I guess), a sit-down style dinner, mariachi band for the appy-drink-&mingle hour while we're having photos. I've read about a cigar roller on site, and that sounded cool, hot the hair place all picked out.... Still stumped on what resort for us. We tossed the Sunset de Mona Lisa for the whole wedding, but travelling from a resort doesn't appeal, plus, I don't get the sand in my toes, like I want. I'm thinking seriously of the Melia Cabo Real for the whole shebang, as the photos are beautiful, the father and brother golf.... a lot ! Lol, and seems to be pretty reasonable, although I know from now until then, prices will change. Any one have any recommendations for vendors or locations that have been stellar for you? Ie, photographer ( no video), music... Another item we have been on the fence about is hiring a travel coordinator. We are ok with people wanting to stay elsewhere, depending on their wants/needs, and I've found in the past that I can get much better prices than what I've paid when going with a coordinator to 'arrange' my holiday, especially when a wedding is involved, it seems the prices jump when they hear that word? Maybe I'm mistaken or missing something? Thanks all for your input, and good luck to all of you out there!! Anne

  6. hi, planning for a wedding in Cabo May 2015, and, I know it's early in the process, but being a total TypeA, I want to ensure I've got the details down and know what we're in for. We are thinking of a few options, one of them being staying at an all incl. but having the wedding off location. Looked at la Casa de Mona Lisa. Received an email from them, but would love to hear what anyone elses' experience has been. Just wondering if the food and atmosphere is really worth the price. From what I can see, with our estm. list of 40 people attending (?), open bar for 2 hours, the food option #6, it's going to be close to $10,000. That's not even including any other vendors... hmmmm..... resort wedding perhaps?..head spinning.... We were hoping to keep the total budget under $15,000CAD. We will be flying from Calgary, and the reason for the off-resort choice would be for privacy reasons, best options for photos, really great food(!!), and service, above all else. The guests coming to the wedding may not be all staying with us at the same resort, and I know there are costs incurred at any resort to pay for additional guests for the day of the wedding... Trying to figure out the best of all worlds.... advice gladly appreciated
