@Emilyhershbain - Congratulations!!! My wedding is on April 29, we are LEAVING on the 6th! Ahh so close to each other. How exciting!

I'm sorry for your trouble girls. I have had Maribel (after having Jessica who left ERC), fortunately Maribel has been very responsive until lately.

I am working with Funjet travel and working with a coordinator in the states who has been my "communicator" she hasn't heard back either.

I agree- just poke a little, it can't hurt. I know they are not as quick as they would be in the states but that's what we're hoping for, an easy breezy wedding service.

@lynne1609 - what problems were you having besides the spa?? Did you decide on a dinner venue?

@victoriasalv They decided to tell me that due to there only being 4 of us for my wedding that we couldn't have the Excellence Love Package wedding with the cocktail hour and dinner.  They suggested to down grade the package and add on the extra's.  I had already worked all the pricing out before I booked and the basic package with additional extra's was more expensive than just upgrading to the Love package.

I wrote a strong email explained that I had always informed them of how many were attending, what package I wanted and at no point did anyone mention you have to have a min of 10 people for the cocktail and dinner.

Anyway they wrote back and said they had spoken to the Manager and they would allow the Love package to go ahead and apologised for how this news had made me felt.

Decided to go with the Las Olas so we will still be enjoying ourselves when the sun sets and take more photo's.

Hi all! I had found this great facebook group for Cancun Brides that has been hugely helpful, but none of the brides seem to be having their wedding at ERC. I was just curious if it would be easier to communicate and share things if we had a FB group as well. Just a thought. I so enjoy seeing and hearing from everyone and all of their suggestions.

UGHH!! How long should it take for Maribel to get back to me with answers to questions? It's been 4 days and I don't want to be "that" bride, but I feel like answers should be easier to get.

I've not had a response to my last email which was dated 30th October. I know they are busy with other Brides who are getting married now and have every right to take priority but surely there is a team in place to look after them and people responding to email enquiries.

Hey Ladies!

Victoria- We get to the resort on May 3rd and staying until the 10th with our wedding in the middle of the week on the 6th! So crazy- we will both be there at the same time! :)

I am still having issues with Alejandra not getting back to me with responses to my questions. I sent her a firm email and copied my travel agent on the email to see if that would help but so far no response. My initial email to her with questions about booking the DJ was on October 18th!! I have sent her so many follow-up emails and the only response I have gotten is that she is busy and will answer my questions as soon as possible.  That response was well over a week ago!

I am now going to far as to contact the DJ directly. With our wedding less than 6 months away its so stressful and frustrating that one of the most important details/vendors is still not booked.

There are a lot of other questions I have for her in regards to our wedding but haven't asked them because I'm waiting for a response to the other ones.

@lynne1609 - I understand the frustration in not getting replies in a timely manner. When I was planning, it would generally take a few days to get a reply, but when our date got closer the replies were quicker.

I do want to let you know that there are no wedding "teams" there to handle different roles. The wedding planners - when I was planning it was Jessica, who worked with us, and Gloria - handle EVERYTHING. I can't even believe how many hours they must be working. They handle the weddings, wedding prep and planning, any rehearsal or welcome dinners/events and prepping for those, replying to e-mails, managing décor and setup... the list goes on. They are also around during the events, so they are there all day and then they stay around for your event to make sure things go smoothly. They have a lot on their plates. Not to mention, we only see a glimpse of the number of wedding that take place at the ERC on this site. The hotel is typically busy with weddings.

I'm not trying to make excuses for them. It's frustrating, and I know it doesn't help much because you want to make sure that you are getting the attention you need, but things will work out. I would just keep sending follow up e-mails after a few days if it's a pressing matter. They know what they are doing. Unfortunately, if your wedding is months away, you are not their priority, but you will (and should) be when your date gets closer. It's just the reality of planning a destination wedding. Trust that ERC is awesome and your day will be wonderful.

@JenniferH114 Thank you so much for your message.  TBH, my last email is regarding some legal stuff and I'm going to make inquiries in the UK so that's why I haven't chased for a response and I totally hear what you are saying.  I guess when you are trying to make reservations for services for your special day then it does feel a bit more pressure as you don't want things to get booked up.  I have absolutely no doubt these people work endless hours to get everything sorted and respect what they are trying to achieve for each bride individually. This is why I stated in my previous posting that I would expect Brides getting married now have their full attention and they will get round to responding at some point.  I guess our big day will be here sooner than we know and we will be expecting their full attention too.

@JenniferH114 You're so right. They do SOOOO many weddings and do so much there. I know we are way on the bottom of the priority list! I think we're just all so excited to lock stuff in! haha

Question for you, I can't remember. Did you get married on the beach or pier? My father in law (to be) is on oxygen and has an extremely hard time walking on the sand. Do you remember how far the wedding pavilion is roughly from the sidewalk? We're debating on putting more of a solid walkway down but if he could just get some help from my fiancé ahead of time if it's not too far that might just be fine (he doesn't want a big deal made of his health). I just can't really see from pictures how far it is to estimate!
