Hi Ladies - I tried doing a search and it doesn't seem like anyone else is getting married here! We are getting married here June 26th, 2012. Just wanting to connect with other Excellence brides :)

Hi Ashley -

Try this thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/34210/excellence-riviera-maya/430  It was started a few years ago and has been added to since.  We are getting married at ERC on March 24, 2012.  We have vacationed at the resort for the past two years and love it.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Best of luck with your planning.

Hi Ashley -

I tried to reply a moment ago but it does not look like it worked.  Apologies for the double post if it happens.  There is an existing thread called Excellence Riviera Maya that is a little older and has a lot of information in it.  We are getting married at ERC on March 24, 2012.  We have vacationed at the resort for the past two years and love it.  Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to help.

Hi! How exciting! Planning is going pretty good so far. We are working with Gloria...but we have been putting most of our efforts lately into the AHR. I finally got my dress ordered a few weeks ago though!

How is your planning coming along? Which package are you doing?

We are doing the Excellence package, because I our wedding is going to be pretty small. I think we may just go to dinner afterwards rather than have a reception. We are planning a big reception at home so I don't want to spend a ton of money for a big to-do down in Mexico.

Look forward to hearing all about your wedding!

Ashley

Ok, this is my third try trying to post! Hopefully this works!

I am working with nayeli.  We are getting the gold package.  So far everything is good. I booked our air, honeymoon, dj and photgrapher. In process of getting the invitations made.

Glad you were finally able to post :)

Who are you using for you photographer? We just sent out our save-the-dates (a little late!), but I haven't decided what I want to do for the invitations yet.

I am all over the place these days - I guess I'm just kind of confused about what all is included and when we make our selections. No one has really explained everything to me. Do we make our selections (flowers, ceremony music, etc...) when we get down there?

    • Hi everyone! My name is Erin and I am a covid bride. My dream was to have a destination wedding. I wanted it easy, breezy and relaxed, with a whole weekend to celebrate with family and friends. I found the perfect venue, Key Largo Lighthouse Beach! (See http://www.keylargolighthouse.com ). The reviews are amazing, and my experience with the venue has been nothing but great, I have emails to prove it! My wedding was going to be four days of pure bliss, on a private beach with amazing beach houses for my bridal party to stay in (the houses can hold 25 people comfortably!) They even gave us a hugeeee discount because of covid! We planned the whole thing, including catering, desserts, an open bar, dj and photographer. But then covid hit. After moving our date back 3 times, expending our engagement far longer than we wanted, we decided enough was enough. We decided to do a small, local ceremony and reception on August 1st, and we are now married! It wasn’t my dream wedding, but it ended up being perfect, even though it was planned in two weeks! But now we’ve paid for two weddings, and we don’t feel like we need another reception. We want that money to pay off student loans, or put a down payment on a house! Or even for our future child’s college fund. However, we cannot get our money back from the venue, per the contract. Finally to the point of my post, the only way we can get a refund is by finding someone to take our place. No one would pay us directly, it would be the normal way for whoever takes over, you’d pay the venue. You’d also get our discount so you’d save money. If anyone knows someone who wants an amazing destination/beach wedding in 2021, please let me know! I’ll give you more details directly.
    • Please help me out, I am little bit confused in choosing the right website. As I am looking for a wedding ceremony script, I visited many websites but I found only three useful but still have doubt in choosing one. So I put a poll to determine which is the better option. Please vote and share your opinion. Thanks🙂
    • Congratulations Kim and follow all mandatory guidelines and be safe. BEST WISHES both of you💞
    • It's so sweet, Nice idea. Perfect for a cute wedding.😍
    • It depends on how far you can go, Can you go out of US for destination wedding, If yes then their are tons of options Ex. Bali,Thailand is becoming the new hot spot for destination weddings, Other one I would recommend is Rajasthan,India It might be expensive wedding but totally worth it the wedding takes place in palaces. If you don't have that much of budget still their are many options available such as Sicily,Italy - get the authentic wedding ceremony in Italy other one i would recommend is going to Spain their iconic scenery are perfect for a wedding. Thanks🙂
