Excellence Riviera Cancun Brides?

Recommended Posts

Can someone offer some suggestion please?  I'm undecided where to have my reception with there only being 4 of us for my Wedding.  I'm getting married in Aug at 3pm on the Pier.  I'm considering either a small intimate table at either Las Olas (having my cocktail hour on the Pier and then being able to watch the sunset later on during the reception) or Oregano.  Any help would be appreciated.

@@lynne1609 What day is your wedding? Do you want to be completely alone? I know they do "Semi private dinners" at restaurants that are available for other guests. You could maybe set one up with Maribel and perhaps she could do it more private.

The Grill/The Lobster House are directly near the beach that would be your closest option. Those are both open air.

Another cool option is Agave - not near the beach but definitely festive. You wouldn't be alone though.

I know they also arrange private dinners for anniversaries etc on the beach so perhaps you could have one for the four of you?

I would think a reception no matter what size would be included so any of those options that she provided you could work dependign on what you are looking for. What type of atmosphere are you looking for?

Hey Ladies, how are the plans going? My dress comes in in 2 weeks I'm excited to try it on in my size!

Also - working on our invitations and wanted some advise.

On the RSVP card I'm putting down entrée choices but since we have only one to select and a vegetarian option I need something like

- Chicken & Seafood (if I go that route)

- Vegetarian

- Allergies?

I have no idea how to simplify that. I'm so worried the meny options will change so I didn't want to give too many details on what we'll have in case it changes. Any thoughts.

I was worried about that too but decided not to put anything on the RSVP card.

Once I have all the responses, I'm going to send out an email to all the people going. It's going to have some more details (welcome party time, packing tips, etc), and to reply with any food restrictions (allergies, vegetarian, etc). Figured this way I don't have to chose the menu right now as I just ordered my invitations.

@@victoriasalv - overcome a few little obstacles with the hotel which was causing me some frustration. Finally got them sorted after several emails (before I flipped and cancelled the whole thing :D )  Now I'm just dealing with the legal documentation now to understand what's needed (as we have both been married and divorced).  Not going to go wedding dress shopping until next year.  I know what I want and I'm sure I will find it.

How are you?

Hey Ladies!

I am new to this site but I am so happy I have found a site where I can talk with other brides who are getting married at ERC! Congrats ladies :)

I am getting married there on May 6, 2016.

I have been having an issue with our wedding coordinator there- Alejandra. At first we had Marriana but we were told that she was transferred to a sister site. Alejandra had been really great at getting back to me and responding to my questions, however recently it seems she's been MIA. I emailed her over two weeks ago about booking our DJ. I am afraid the company will get booked up if we don't book with them soon.

I don't know if I am just used to getting quick responses or if I am being a crazy bride. I know things can move more slowly in Mexico. I am just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I feel a little unclear of booking timelines etc. and don't seem to be getting too much guidance from the resort.

@@Emilyhershbain - Emily, Congratulations on your wedding date.  We get married 4th August 2016.

Yes, Alejandra is my co-ordinator as well and she isn't the quickest in responding (I understand they have weddings each day to attend too but they should also allocated enough time to respond in a reasonable time).  I have had to chase her on several occasions until I wrote a strong email outlining my distress.  Between Alejandra and the Spa I was ready to call it a day.  So far, I've not had too and hopefully won't have to have those thoughts again.

You need to email them again.  Explain that you are concerned you won't get allocated the DJ on your specific date.  They are there to assist in taking our stresses away.

I'm sure you will get sorted soon.

Thanks for getting back to me Lynne!

I am so sorry you have had those issues. Thank you for the advice. I will definitely be sending her a strong email. Its been so stressful just waiting around for a response and knowing that time is flying by.  I also emailed the Spa about scheduling my hair/makeup for the wedding day and they have responded but only minimally answering only some of my questions. I'll have to keep at them as well.

It's nice to know I'm not just a crazy bride! Ha

Hopefully we'll both have smooth planning from here on out!

The Spa caused me the most stress, booking the appointments was ok.  They kept providing me with different prices for my Mother's hair and make up so beware.  Get them to send you the price list (or I can email you my copy if you want).

Keep emailing them and if you don't get any response, email them again copying Alejandra in (did you have another point of contact before being passed onto the wedding co-ordinators?  I did called Adrianna and I copied her into it as well).

It's a shame to have these issues before the big day and not, you're not Bridezilla just yet haha.

If I can help anymore then let me know.  I just need to get all my documents sorted this side 1st.

Speak soon.

Lynne

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
