Celtic Girl - I have been getting a TON of PMs from other users asking me to send them templates.  I understand where they are coming from but I am getting a little sick of logging on every time with 3 or 4 PMs for my templates!  That being said I also HATE the "filler" messages that clog up all the threads with users just trying to reach their 150.  The "nice" "Like it" "good job" are just SO ANNOYING.  I think it is important to contribute effectively to the forums! I think paying the $30 is fair if you respect the forum and the value it has!

In the end it is your choice, to be honest I have let some of the msgs in my inbox sit there as I don't have the patience anymore to spend 15 minutes emailing people when I just want to catch up on some of the threads!!!

A little bit of a vent but I feel your pain!

Good tip on the Oriental Trading shop...I've never heard of it until today. I'm still in the beginning stage of planning as the wedding isn't until May 2012, however I can see that I'll probably be in the same boat as you bringing along a lot of decorations.

I've heard and read through a few forums saying when you go through customs in Mexico you need to have receipts for all wedding items and that there's a max dollar amount. Do any of you know the actual dollar amount?  Also, does is work on a per person basis? For example if I exceed the amount I'd probably have my MOH or Mom be responsible for the other items. Do you think that would work?

Like you and Tori....i get a ton of PMs asking for help of just to send what ive done...due to not enough posts IE:10 lol i dont understand how ppl can think that they can just come on here and get the stuff we have all worked so hard on, and then tell everyone that they "just cant do the 150" REALLY? we all did it and were still adding to forums, posts etc!

Iam now at the point where, and this may sound mean...but if I can help someone i will, but i will only do it if they have put the effort into this site like we all have.

I have gotten alot of help from great friends on here (WINK WINK) but i put alot of my time into this site and these threads. This is a great website if you put something into it!

She also mentioned "I dont have the patience to get to 150 posts", she only has 10... Now, I wouldnt have an issue sharing, but the fact she told me that she was too lazy to contribute when I worked at contributing to forums and worked up to my ability to view attachments, bothers me a little! BUT at the same time, I feel like if I can help someone, why not? Advice??

tI too would like to know what bags!!! lol, I got mine, but im not happy with them.. they are alright, but I imagined them being a touch better lol.. call me particular I guess, thats what cheaping out does!

and in regards to the PM's Im glad people agree and share the same thoughts!!! I have NO problem helping brides out that are willing to contribute... IE If they have about 120 posts and have worked for them and are actually contributing... Just for fun, I looked at the types of things that these brides who are PMing have been posting, and sure enough, all whopping 10 posts are "welcome, welcome, welcome etc in the newbie threads... this drives me NUTS!!!!! I am looking for helpful threads and the newest topics, not WELCOME WELCOME etc.... ugh... thats my little vent! Ill admit, when I was about 20 posts away I got eager, and I may have been a little guilty of the one liners... but not many, if any! AND if I did, I read the ENTIRE thread (gah!) to see if they had any questions that I could help out with.

oh I had one more thing I wanted to discuss. Is anyone changing into a different dress for their reception? I wasnt going to, BUT ever since I had my son, I have been WAY too hot, It never bothered me before, but I cant take it lately, and its only been in the 30's (which is high for here but really, nothing too drastic).  I have been revisiting the idea of a reception dress lately... for my own sweaty sake lol.

And do any of you know any decently priced dress makers? I have one that I really do like, but I dont like where I would be buying it from, it seems a little... sketchy? (its online).  So I was thinking of having it copied.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
