In Edmonton I went to 3 Stores:

-Delica Bridal (where I bought my dress)

-Pure Bridal

-The Bridal House.

Everything in the Bridal house looked terrible on me, but it was good prices if you could find a nice one.

Pure bridal had a more modern collection, and a very large collection to look through.

Delica bridal only has a few rows of dresses but they are all stunning. I paid around $1500 for a Jenny Yoo dress (pictured).

I hear Delica is getting a bunch of new lines in this year, but are brand new so had not figured it all out by the time I was shopping. But I would definitely drop by Delica!

I just ordered a lot of stuff for our lootbags for the guests, so ill let you know where I got everything and how much shipping was, if you're planning on ordering anything in. Also ordered Buri fans and chair sashes.. all yet to arrive.

Love your dress, so pretty & elegant!!! Jenny Yoo makes fabulous dresses :) Thanks so much for the store suggestions!

And I'd love to know where you order your goody bag things from.  Currently I am planning on just giving everyone a customized beach bag (which reminds me to get on with the design process and to look out for VistaPrint deals/coupons), but I still have time to change my mind- my FI gets angry when I talk about all the stuff I want to bring with us; he says the point of a DW is that you don't need all that "stuff." Sheesh, what do boys know? Thank God that my mother, MOH and 1 bridesmaid live in other cities so I can pawn my "stuff" on them before we leave so he'll never know how much we're actually bringing...angel2.gif

Davids Bridal opens in Edmonton April 25 (according to this Edmonton Journal Blog: http://blogs.edmontonjournal.com/2012/03/29/davids-bridal-opens-april-25/ )

I went to a David's Bridal in the states and they had some very nice designs but the fabric, for many dresses, wasn't very nice. They did have some very cute, and very cheap, accessories though!

Anyways, I figured I would also post about my shoes. I got them at Winners in Mayfield (Edmonton) for 29.99 and they are very comfortable. I don't go there very often and was blown away by their shoe selection!

They are the exact colour of my dress, and I needed a wedge since I want to get married on the sand. I also am short and feel sexier with a few inches added, so i wanted some height. I might decorate them with a few crystals, but for now this is what they look like.

I put a picture from the back too so you can see that its a skinny wedge, not a bulky one..

Also, thanks everyone for your kind words about my dress!

Oh, well I'm at it, I may as well post the rest of the attire from Edmonton... this is much more fun than studying for my finals!

I got my bridesmaid dresses from the Bay (Southgate) for $97 each. BCBGeneration.

I got the veil and flower addition to the dress at Delica (where I bought the dress). Veil was about $200 and the flower was about $75. There are swarovski crystals in the center of both, and they are Sara Gabriel brand.

If you're in Vancouver, I tried on dresses at Blush and they had a million AMAZING dresses, but they were mostly all out of my budget, averaging $4000-5000. If you're in that budget range and going to Vancouver I would definitely check it out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
