I am torn between the now jade and the now sapphire. Any recommendations would be appreciated...

Thanks so much.

I think that NOW Sapphire has a lot more options for brides available as far as ceremony/reception locations.

HI I AM NEW TO THIS FORUM AND AM GETTING MARRIED AT NOW SAPPHIRE IN AUGUST 2013. I AM HAVING A VERY SMALL WEDDING WITH ONLY 9 PEOPLE.  HAS ANYONE ELSE WENT WITH THE BASIC MOMENTS PACKAGE? I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU GET A CANOPY OR AN ARCH AND IS ANYTHING INCLUDING ON IT , OR DO YOU HAVE TO BUY YOUR OWN STUFF AND BRING IT DOWN?   ALSO DOES IT INCLUDE THE WHITE CHAIR COVERS OR IS THAT EXTRA. I HAVE TRIED TO EMAIL THE WEDDING COORDINATOR AND HAVE YET TO HEAR A RESPONSE.

If they stay at the resort there should not be a vendor fee.  My Photographer came in from Canada and stayed the week with us, no additional charges.

Hi Ladies, I have not been active on this thread, however I have diligently read it for the last 10 months.  Just wanted to let everyone know that I had my wedding on the Tequilia Terrace on April 16 - and it was the most perfect amazing thing I could have asked for.  Just wanted to throw a few points out to put your mind at ease over what seems to be some common concerns: We had 55 people with the devine package.  We upgraded chairs to the gold tiffany chairs, had one hour additonal bar service and the champange toast ect.  It was worth every penny.  The staff there (cheers to Ramon here) was total 5 star all the way.  It was a first class wedding and everything ( I mean EVERYTHING was perfect).  Decor:  We brought our own table runners, centre pieces and table names.  I had 4 cases of decorations that we brought to Ramon's office.  We set up a mock table in his office, he took a picture and the rest was up to him, and it was PERFECT.  The day after the wedding everything was perfectly packed up and put back in my room. Photobooth.  Expensive, but the best $800 ever spent.  Guests could not get enough of it, and the video the give you at the end is hilarious! Photograper:  We used the free hotel photographer just for the one hour of the ceremony.  We flew in our own photographer from Canada to do the main shoot.  Hotel photograper got some decent shots.  THe package comes with a free hardcover photobook of 24 pictures, so I had the hotel photographer shoot the ceremony (with my own photographer) and then do the formal family pictures.  I will try to post his pictures to my profile.  I am happy with them. DJ:  we rented the speaker system and brought an ipod.  There is a guy that is there to admin the playlist, and the speaker system is HUGE and blasts out club like sound.  Seriously no need for a DJ at all. lounge seats:  we rented the premium couches for around the dance floor - amazing touch for people to relax on (they are also then included for the cocktail hour). Hair:  The salon on site is great.  I have very long extensions and they did a great job with them!  Ladies, plan to tie your hair back - its REALLY windy! (bonus is that you dont overheat in your dress). Any questions - pm me! thanks and enjoy your weddings.  best resort EVER!
Someone on an earlier post mentioned lighting & a bubble machine with the sound system, was this the case for you? Does the person manning the speaker control the songs & play them when needed; first dance, etc

Hi Mya,

Yes there was lighting (great job on the lighting!) and a bubble machine included as well!  Also they brought out bags of long baloons when we were well into party mode - it was a hit!

The person manning the speaker system did operate the ipod, however you will want to make a play list bc he does not go through and pick songs out. If you keep your first dance song on its own list he will que it up and play it when needed.  He was really good, just have your play list ready and then dont worry about a thing!

They are total experts at everything!  Everything seems to go off without a hitch at all!

Hello Everyone,

I just got back from both Now Jade and Now Sapphire.  My wedding will be in July at Now Sapphire BUT I stayed at Now Jade this trip.  I met with Anel, my wedding coordinator for 3 hours at Now Sapphire. It was amazing!  I got to see all of the locations, try and food, and plan out my wedding!

I also loved staying at Now Jade and saw a wedding from afar.

For those of you who are deciding between resorts, here is what I can tell you.  They are both wonderful but also VERY different.  If you are someone who likes a contemporary Miami style looking place, go with Now Jade.  The suites are way nicer at Now Jade....

However, if you want a more warm, Mexican inspired feel, go with Sapphire.  I live in Miami, so for me its not that exciting to have a chic contemporary place.  I looooved how romantic and unique Sapphire felt.  I also found the pool to be nicer at Sapphire.

I dont know the wedding coordinator at Now Jade, but I am sooo happy to have Anel.

If you are a pottery barn type of person, go with Now Jade.  If you like more of an IKEA and Miami-chic look, go with Jade.  Either way, they are both amazing!

Hi CancunBride,

Glad you were able to make the trip!  You said you were able to try some of the food.  Was this wedding food, or just the resort restaurants in general?

Any tips you have would be fantastic! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
