Mrstgun's Planning Updates (Pic Heavy - FINAL Planning Post - Page 65, Post 642)

Recommended Posts

Hi Mich,

I designed my own monogram (as did R~) and used this as the current through all my DIY projects particularly my OOT bags.  Check out my OOT bags thread to get an idea of what we are talking about as well you can see my templates there!  Do you have a monogram yet?  R~ designs monograms and has an etsy store so you should definitely check her out if you haven't gotten one yet as this will REALLY help in everything you do!  We simply printed ours at home on the same cardstock used for our invites, I used a hole punch and raffia to attach them to the bags.  I am going for a chic yet natural vibe so I LOVE raffia, you can also get it in different colours (even purple and silver R!!!!) and it kind of has a nice beachy feel in my opinion.

Let me know if you have any other questions hope this helps :)

good morning, brides!

i've been contemplating about today's post ALL NIGHT!  should i add ANOTHER DIY project to my list..well, after conferring with my BFF and my fellow DIY DIVA EXTRAORDINARE torilynnsmith, i thought, ok..WHY NOT!?!

so BDW, here's the latest...as you i'm sure you can tell, i'm ALL about COORDINATING..everything needs to match or go with the wedding's theme and colorscape...so..my fiance and i are having a welcome reception in the lobby bar of the iberostar rosehall beach on thursday night (the first night that our guests are in jamaica) followed by dinner.  i wanted to make the 'welcome reception' look more like a reception and not merely a meeting at the lobby bar, so i decided..i need DRINK FLAGS...personalized ones, of course...after scouring the web for inspiration, here's what i've come up with.

ladies, these were fairly painless to make..and i think they'll add a nice touch for our welcome reception and maybe even our wedding reception..i'm thinking i'll use the paisley printed ones for the welcome reception and maybe the ribbon ones for the wedding reception.

can't wait to hear yall's (ode to TX for the ya'll) thoughts on these.

well, that's it for today's planning post.

until next time, happy planning!!  cheesy.gif

for today's planning post, i'll be sharing my latest DIY project, my bachelorette breakfast invite.  here's some background, in lieu of having a bridal shower and/or a bachelorette party, i'm having breakfast with my female guests..most of my family and friends still live back East so this is an opportunity for them to have private time with me during the wedding weekend and if they'd like, shower me with gifts...although, gifts aren't expected, they are appreciated.  msnwink.gif

the breakfast will 'look, feel and sound' like a shower hosted by my sister and my two daughters.  we'll play games, there will be cute prizes and i hope moments of words of wisdom from my friends and family.  so, i wanted to do a really nice invite for the breakfast...here's what i've come up with.

the invitation will be mailed separately to my female guests.

brides, that's it for today's post, until next time, happy planning!!!  cheesy.gif

Yes I am an AKA...I won't tell anyone you skee wee...lol

Did you have to use a special printer for the door hangers or just a regular laser jet or ink jet and then cut them out?

anyway, about your questions...here's the 'skinny'...

1. How many guest are you planning on having at your wedding.

25-30 (we have 20 booked)

2. CAN I COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  LOL I want a goodie bag....hehe

lol...i'm about a week after your big day..if you're still hanging out in Jamaica..come on through! iberostar rosehall beach, october 8, i'll be the Diva in the Dress! msnwink.gif

3.  What type of paper did you print the door hangers on?

the door hangers were printed on a white metallic paper that i got from Michaels (.29/sheet)...its a bazzill basics paper that's seriously gotta be the BEST paper ever!  love it...its more of a cardstock than a paper though.

4. What are you doing different for your male guests.  I am trying to decided what type of bag to get for them.

i'm not really doing anything for male guests as i don't really have any single males coming...with the exception of my son.  i'm doing the bob stuff from michaels for him along with the goodie box that i chatted about the other day...i'm also doing a goodie box for dad and one for my love..because i just couldn't afford the rolex (pre-owned) that he really wants..  i committed to pay for ALL of our kids (4 - 2 GROWN KIDS AND 2 WHO THINK THEY'RE GROWN) to be at the wedding so that's a priority but i'm determined to get him that watch...ONE OF THESE DAYS!  huh.gif

5. Are you doing a hangover kit...I am waiting for that post.

i'm on the fence about the hangover kit..we're 'church folk' although we're not 'churchy'..meaning we do most things in moderation BUT i don't want to offend any of our guests..some of which are 'churchy'..so instead of a hangover kit, i'm doing what i call a wedding survival kit..most things that are in a hangover kit will be in the survival kit along with some other goodies..i won't be chatting about those until closer to the wedding as i'm still hunting for treasures to include in the OOT "kits".  and i'm hoping to score a few FREEBIES along the way...  stay tuned!

well, that's it from here...please let me know if i can be of any other support.

as always, happy planning!!!

NO it is not that you need to get a life...it is that you have clearly missed your calling.  You need to think about opening an etsy site and getting paid...cause I would pay you...hehe

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
