@ Tori - My biggest problem are the images I purchased to use for the invites.  Without having photoshop or being a skilled graphic designer (although I should have explored that option in college), I am left to match the font color to the image color.  It's not terrible as I've found paper from papersource that matches it spot on but it's not perfect (in my mind) and I think we all know how that feels...

Thanks for the advice!!! I still may bring it to a printer - not staples and see if they can do anything different.

ok, ladies...

i need some help...i'm going back and forth about my program..should i go the passport route or should i do something a bit more traditional...

plus the passport is ALOT of work..initially i was going to do a single 8.5 x 11.5 sheet of paper doublesided but then i wasn't really 'in love' with the concept..plus i feel like its so 'destination wedding' and i didn't want to keep doing the 'norm'...so here's a mockup of a program, i'm thinking i may incorporate into my stationery suite.

i need ya'lls opinion...passport program or more 'traditional' program?

program mockup.PNG

please share your thoughts, suggestions, recommendations, etc..i could really use the help...

oh and here's another 'taste' at what's included w/my stationery suite...hope ya'll like it.  cheesy.gif

I personally like the more traditional route for the program, I am thinking passports for the "welcome" booklet with all the info in it but again like you said it is a TON of work!

You do have to keep reminding yourself that your guests are not on BDW all the time like we are so they probably haven't seen "faux" passports used for anything before and they will likely find it VERY unique... so saying that... maybe passports lol I am no help at all!!!!

Will you be doing fans at the ceremony?!

I had the same feeling as you mrstgun,

I loved the idea of passport invitations. Other than the fact that I have gotten the feeling that they are so over done, I just new someone would have thought that I found their passport and mailed it to them. LOL.

Tory makes a good point about them just seeming over done to us because we are on BDW 24-7. So I'm going to go ahead with my plan to use them for the itinerary I'm putting in the OOT bags.

The other thing I will say is that nothing you do looks trite. You manage to put a new spin on every project. I'm so glad you haven't gone cold turkey on us.

I love your door hangers- I'd already done a trial run of my own but your wording is miles better. Hope you don't mind me pinching it!

Also, I made a good start on my boarding passes yesterday and FI and I love them! Thanks soooo much for the template! Think I'm going to use the same theme for my pre-departure booklet too (though may go for passports instead), so a massive THANK YOU!

Re: the programmes, are you using the passport anywhere else? Maybe you could go the traditional route but give it a bit of a twist? I'm not sure what though. I'm a bit stuck on my programs too... I haven't found anything yet that I really LOVE. Will let you know if I do lol.

I say traditional. I agree with Tori that I like the passports as the STD or maybe something in the OOT bags, but ceremony should be traditional. I have seen looooots of passport stuff lately too which makes me want to stray away from it. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
