Welcome to the forum Karly,

I am getting married at Dreams on 11th April my co-ordinator is David and he has been amazing always responds to me quickly.

Our ceremony starts at 5.30pm at the Gazebo, we have hire Arturo Sotomayer who is an amazing guitarist, i am going to walk down the aisle to him him playing Canon in D by Pachabel, he will then play amazed by lonestar as we walk back down the aisle as husband and wife!   We then have a cocktail hour from 6-7pm where we will have Arturo playing. Then we have dinner at the oceana terrace, for music we will just have an ipod. After dinner we have fire dancers coming and then we move inside to a ballroom where we have d.j ricardo coming from 9pm-1am, our guest are coming from all over the world and there was no way we could have the wedding finish at 10.30pm that is why we are moving inside so we can party the night away!

Neysa Berman is my hair and make-up artist, her work is amazing, i also have her coming to give me a spray tan on the friday night and then her and her team are coming on saturday to give us all mani and pedi's and also do my trial.  One of my guests is hosting a cocktail party for us at the One and Only on the saturday night so will be great to have my hair and make up done for that as well!

I have booked Gabriel garcia as my photographer but i am a bit worried as we have been emailing him for the last 2 weeks and have not heard anything back from him, am a bit worried, it looks like i may have to book another photographer!

I hope this info helps i will post reviews as soon as i can.

Good luck with your business, what is it?  I am looking at starting my own business after the wedding!!

I would like to get more specific information from anyone who would like to share. What would you have done differently, if anything? How did you figure out your colors? Your music? Did you have someone play during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner? Where was the reception held? Did you hire a DJ? Finally, did you get any group discounts for the rooms or the airfare? Did you have a reception when you arrived back home for people who couldn't come to the actual wedding?

I've been so busy planning my business (opening next month) that I'm a little overwhelmed at all of the decisions still left to be made!

Thank you in advance for all of your help and guidance!

Love,

Karly

PS. I'm having trouble starting a new thread which is strange because I usually consider myself "tech savvy"! LOL!

Hi Everyone! I'm getting married at Dreams Los Cabos on November 11, 2011...yes 11/11/11! We are absolutely obsessed with our date. Mariana is my WC and she has been wonderful so far. She gets back to me with answers to all of my questions within 2 days! I have the Ultimate package, which is pretty good considering we expect 60-70 guests attending. The ceremony will be held at the gazebo and the reception will be at the cascade terrace. I just love the idea of overlooking the ocean while celebrating with family and friends! Mango Weddings will be our photographer and videographer for 5 hours.

The reviews have been so great and helpful, so thank you to those that have posted so far. I do have some questions for anyone that is willing to share their experiences so far. Has anyone had both the legal and symbolic ceremony on the same day? We really like the date we have chosen and want that to be the "legal" date we got married. And the legal ceremony is very limited, since we wanted to do a veil and cord ceremony, along with the sand and ring ceremonies.

DJ Ricardo is booked on that date, but I am looking to book his brother, Pedro. Does anyone have any experience working with Pedro? Or can you recommend anyone else?

Did anyone have / or planning to have a rehearsal dinner as well? If so, what did you do? Did you choose a theme night? Did you hold it at one of their restaurants?

Thanks again in advance for all the help and suggestions!

Hi Ladies!

Just thought I would chime in.. I'm getting married at dreams may 12, 2011. Just getting all the final planning done. I've been reading through this forum forever and it has been soooo helpful. Right now I'm trying to decide between Suzanne Morel or Neysa Berman for hair and make-up. I have a small wedding party, but very picky(I'm a hair stylist),so trying to decide which to go with. And we are also trying to decide on a dj. We are between Mijares, Ron Weber(djfunkle), and DJ fradal. I'm leaning dj funkle, just haven't seen many reviews on him. If anyone has any advice on any of these vendors, I would love to hear it!

I feel ya on being picky about hair & make up , i am also a hair stylist which is why i decided to splurge and go with Suzanne Morel, I hadnt heard of Neysa Berman so i'm not familier with her work. I am using DJ Fradal and he has been great to work with so far. His rates are $150/hour. I considered using DJ Funkle but like you said i couldnt find many reviews or info on it so it made me a little nervous.

Hi Ambularose :) I am getting married at Dreams Oct 14, 2011. I am a hair stylist as well and of coarse I am super picky with my hair and makeup!! One of my clients that got married in Cabo referred me to Neysa. She was very happy with her and from her wedding pics her hair and makeup looked gorgeous!! She told me that Neysa uses all MAC makeup and everyone else that she tried in Cabo used Avon makeup. Neysa's prices are really reasonable and she has been very helpful with me. We are using DJ Mijares. He is playing the guitar during our ceremony and DJ for our reception. He has also been easy to work with via email. I hope this info helps. Good luck =) Lacey

Hi Tammy. I am new to this forum and am getting married at Dreams 10/14/2011! :) I am confused with how the rooms are booked for an all inclusive resort. If I have 3 girls that want to room together but one of them is arriving a day earlier, do the other 2 girls just book a flight separate and pay the resort day fee when they arrive? Or do they all need to book separately in different rooms? Any suggestions. Thank you =)

I concur with MissMoney...if you like the style and quality of makeup used by MAC cosmetics, you'll love Neysa. From the pictures I saw of both Neysa and Suzanne's work (previous brides on here, as well as their websites), Neysa's portfolio seemed a bit more modern and current. For trial hair/makeup, day of hair/makeup, and TTD hair/makeup, Neysa is charging me $600 (inc. tax/grat). Very reasonably priced.

Hi ambularose,

I was originally going to book Suzanne and then i found out that she does not do your hair and make up she sends her team.  Neysa is doing my hair and make up herself, also when i had a look at Neysa's work i personally preferred it and i Love MAC cosmetics!

Sorry can't help with the D.J we are using D.J Ricardo.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
