In November I attended a wedding at Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe and it was great!  Check in to that one to see if you like it.  Also, check with a travel agent who specializes in Destination Weddings, as they are a wealth of information.

I recently got engaged on December 4th and have dreamed of a Destination Wedding!!! Last night in talking to my fiance, we decided to look into a Riviera Maya Wedding on March 2013.  (So let the madness begins....) I came across this site and have to admit, I am hooked.  It is full of information!  Having a hard time narrowing the venue as people rave about all resorts in the RIviera Maya.  As we are def trying to remain budget conscious... I welcome any ideas, suggestions, tips etc with anyone that is planning a 2013 wedding as well or has had their wedding there.  The whole thing is definitely overwhelming.

Hi everyone! I'm a March 2013 bride, in hopefully Mexico. But haven't decided on a place yet, or even a coast. My man and I live in san diego, and all of his family is in southern California while most of my family is from new england and my friends are east coasters as well. Anyone else have this dilemma? I'm leaning towards Riviera Maya/playa del carmen, as I want to venture to the ruins one day, but I'm sure the west coast has great things to offer as well. I also just stumbled across this site and there is SO much info out there, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. Guess its time to make wedding planning my 2nd job ....

I choose those two options because there was SO much info on here about them. In the end I choose Majectic Colonial because it has really high rating on tripadvisor.com one of my fave traveling sites. The Majestics pricing was and set up made more sense to us. Plus I wanted an all-inclusive. I am working with a TA with Wright and she just got me the actual costs for the rooms and its a little bit more than dreams but not enough difference for me to reconsider. For the website I did weddingwire.com super easy and easy to personalize.

Also, how does one go about making a wedding website? I would love to do that! I want to start on something like that THIS weekend!

Cabo is beautiful on your side. I wish I could do it there but it'll be too pricey for our guests :-s

Hello Fellow 2013 Brides!

I actually got engaged a few months ago, but wasn't able to dedicate my time to planning/etc. until now. I just went to a wedding show this past weekend, and can tell you that it absolutely justified my decision to have a destination wedding! I know I will load myself up with DIY stuff, and certain things with the destination wedding as well....but could not even imagine how consumed my life would be if I had to plan a wedding here at home (Kingston, Ontario).

We have decided on late March/early April 2013. We are flexible on date as we want to choose a time that is most affordable for our guests. We are thinking Dominican, as it seems more affordable than Mexico...not sure if this is right? I'm considering Dreams La Romana, and Gran Bahia Principe La Romana...Dreams seems to be more money than the Gran....we will see. I did however, fall in love with Dreams, and there is soooo much info on this site from fellow Dreams brides....

Does anyone already have pricing/dates booked for 2013? I am just starting to contact travel agents etc, and hope I can find one that can get me pricing ASAP. I am starting to seriously feel stressed now that we have made the decision to do this, that I can't get pricing anywhere....I know I have a year and two months....but still! lol.

Congrats to all of my fellow 2013 ladies!

Alicia

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
