Hi!  Just a heads up:  My TA told me not to do Hard Rock because it is just too big for a wedding.  But, I am sure you will pick the BEST place for you and your group!  Happy planning!

We have narrowed our search down to Hard Rock and Majestic Colonial. (Dreams locations were out after many things I did not like).  I will let you know what we choose. We will be meeting with out travel agent in a few weeks to go over both places and then we will get going on the contracts. Getting excited for January 2013! Now I just have to start with the DIY things....sigh...this year is going to fly by I have a feeling. ;-)

I know this was not directed at me, but that kind of makes sense. Prices are always higher in winter and cooler weather, since more people travel then to escape the snow and ice. I think - but am not sure - that March is right on the edge of that. So April would be lovely; you get the nice weather, but smaller crowds and therefore lower prices.

Have you gotten full pricing and booked your trips yet?

Thanks Peach! I really wanted to stick to March since it is colder here, but spring break is out due to high prices, and the last week of March/very first of April is out due to Easter ( TA advised it's not a good time to travel to Dominican). So - pushing it out to the week starting April 6th looks like our best bet. I think early April will still be a nice escape from the cooler weather here, and for the people who go for a few weeks - they can come home to spring :)

I think my guests will be happy with the hot weather down there, smaller crownds, and better pricing!

Thank you for the info. I was wondering if the Hard Rock would be too big, I mean they have 15 freaking pools...LOL. I am meeting with my TA next week to discuss the different places and choose one. Then I will go from there. I want to get it booked ASAP! :-)

I am so ready to start everything.

Hi Courtney!

I too, think I will be an April 2013 bride! I'm curious to know, were you able to get pricing for your guests this far in advance? I'm so excited to start planning, but I'm afraid to pick a date for April 2013 until I know pricing/flight schedules for the hotels I'm looking at....oh the joy of planning a DW! Wasn't this supposed to be easier? lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
