I don't have it in my budget to make a site visit, but your pics gave me the comfort I was looking for.  Now I just need to decide.  My wedding is at 2:00 on the beach and my room as at the Nizuc side.  In your opinion which terrace would be closest to the wedding and for the rest of the guests if they are on the sunrise side?

Without knowing which beach location you are having the ceremony at, this is a tough question.  If you are having it at the Tucan Beach ceremony site (which is in front of Nizuc) it is going to be a very long walk from Sunrise section.  The Tucan Gazebo and Tucan Beach are at the far end of Nizuc (closest to Grand Section, and farthest from Sunrise Section).  There are a handful of terrace's along the way, from Nizuc to Sunrise, and any of them would be fine.  Some are much larger than others (Moonlight terrace is HUGE).  I would take a quick look at a map, and get an idea of where each terrace is located.  I guess pick something located in between your beach ceremony and the Sunrise section.

Which beach location do you think is more private?

To be completely honest, I am not sure any of them are very private.  Most of them are set up in a manner that you shouldn't have people walking through the ceremony, along the ocean.  However, you will likely have some people watching from the shore no matter where you are set up.

We are having our ceremony in a Gazebo, not on the beach, so I didn't take a real in-depth look at the beach locations.  I did take quite a few photos of the Tucan Beach set up, as we saw numerous weddings there in the couple days we spent at the resort. Our room had a veiw of both the Tucan Gazebo and Tucan Beach set-up.

That is what I figured..As long as people are not getting in my photos and walking the beach in front of the ceremony, I don't mind if people are watching from the shore.  Thanks for your input! :)

Any of you lucky ladies that were able to do a site visit get a chance to sample the menu choices? If so, any recommendations?? I'm in the process of picking my menu and I'm clueless as to what option to go with. It's tough making decisions without knowing whether or not it's good. I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks :)

MPWeddingPlan maybe able to assist you with this question as she was able to conduct a site visit.  However; I am unsure as to how often she is on the forum.  So, you may also want to post this question to the Moon Palace 2011 Brides as they have either had and/or will have their wedding soon.

They are very similar to the same size and they are actually quite close to one another.  The Venado Terrace is right in front of the Venado building of rooms (which you can find on the property map - its the Deer), right in between where the Nizuc side meets the Grand side.  There are pics of it in this thread....post #110 and #111.

The Tucan Terrace is right next to the Tucan Gazebo, and right along the Tucan Beach.  Its very similar in both size and shape, and is right along the ocean as well.  You can probably see one Terrace from the other, they are less than 200 yards away from each other.  You can see the Tucan Terrace in post #113 (far left side of image).

If you have any other specific questions, I would be more than happy to try to answer them.  If you are choosing between the 2 terraces, you can't go wrong.  They are basically the same size and shape, and in the same area.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
