So here's my input... I'm also 5'6 and roughly the same weight. I did a cleanse at the beginning of January which involved changing diet and taking diuretics for 12 days. I think I benefited most from changing my diet to include more vegetables and eliminating processed sugars and breads. We were allowed whole grains and oats for carbs. I lost 10 pounds over the course of the diet.

I think if you make a serious lifestyle change and eliminate most of the crap we tend to consume, you will be much happier with the results.

But most importantly, take a serious look at your weight. It is a healthy weight, so maybe you just want to increase you activity to redistribute how your body carries the weight. Losing anymore than 25 pounds will probably put you into the underweight category.

Tenny, let's not forget we are really close to our wedding days and want our clothes to fit without major alterations! And I don't want guests to be whispering that I look sick. I weighed about 25 lbs less when my sister got married 10 years ago, and when I see the pictures it makes me sick. I was barely there! But that was back in the day when my metabolic rate was crazy, now I have hypothyroid.

This is exactly what I was thinking.  5'6 and 138lbs sounds like a normal healthy weight to me.  I'm only 5'3 and 124lbs and according to my dr. that's right where I should be weight-wise for my height.  Please don't go overboard with these 'diets' and fads.. i'm sure you look awesome just how you are!  And like mocha said, maybe just increasing your activity and changing your diet (eating clean, fresh foods vs. processed crap) you will see the changes you're looking for.

Just because we're getting married, it doesn't mean we have to go starving ourselves ladies!!!

You all look GORGEOUS just how you are!!!

I hear you..! I was hyperthyroid too and eating whatever I want and underweight. Then the doctors put me on radioactive treatment that turned me hypo and I put on 30 lbs in 3 weeks!

I always think it's so sad when you go to a wedding and the bride is so thin and weak. Why would you want to like death in your wedding pictures?

The most important thing to remember is that our FI's have seen us at our worst and still decided that they want us forever. And that they would always feel that way no matter how we looked. Change you eating and activity habits because it's better for your health and you will live a longer life with your true love, not so you look better in a bikini or wedding dress.

Which will be super difficult, so i have been doing lots of research.  And I am a huge fan of Julian Michael/Bigges Loser and you all know she isnt about the easy fix, but she says if you have a big event coming up............(uh i think a wedding qualifies)....you can drop 5 pounds of water weight in 7 days......

Do this!!

Drink 60oz. of water a day with 1 tbsp of sugar free cranberry juice, 2 tbsp of lemon juice and 1 teabag of Dandelion Root teashots.gif

Seems easy enough, she guarantees it will work if you consume the 60 oz of water with ingredients for 7 days straight.

Im gonna start this Monday..........anybody wanna try it with me so if it works????

Here is her video describing the drink and also

EAT Brazilian Nuts they are a natural Fat Burner...

OKAY...I will try not to make this too long. I am a nutritional therapist so I can be really passionate about nutrition and health. I get worried when people try a blanket "diet trick" like this. It is important to remember that we all have bio-individuality, meaning that something that might be good for me might not work for another person. There are so many factors including health history, age, race, environment, stress, mental health, etc. that need to be considered. Yes, it might be a quick fix for you, but it will only be temporary. Would you prefer rapid weight loss or lifelong health? There are much healthier ways of losing weight for a big event that concentrates on balancing your nutrition for the entire day.

I don't want this to sound like a rant because I like Jillian Michaels and how she is trying to educate on fitness and health. This drink only targets water weight which will easily come right back, and could leave you very dehydrated. In the clip, she says diuretc drink which pulls water from the body. However, water is one of the most essential nutrients for the body and unfortunetly, one of the biggest nutritional defiiences in the United States. Then, her first tip off adding caffeine(which is a diuretic as well) will further dehyrate your body.

I do agree with her tips about adding vitaminC(as long as it's not from juice), garlic, eating organically, and brazil nuts(but I would add that a variety ofnuts will broaden the nutrients you will receive).

I hope this didn't make anyone upset...just my own nutritional two cents!

Thanks for the input!!

This did not work for me personally.

I did try it for 3 days only to become constipated........

Go figure???

Someone told me if I did not have any water weight to lose that it was sucking water out of my intestines making me constipated....not sure how true that is............Now this may work for someone else........

I didnt work for me.......but then again, i didnt stick with it for a week.........but i cant help it...........I had to POOP.....LOL
