Barcelo is one of our options but we are worried about the photographer fee to bring your own in, what if it is just a friend taking picutres and not an actual photographer?? Im going to check out that other forum!

Hello everyone! We are also planning a March/April 2012 wedding at the Palace. We have been having some issues with TA's but hopefully we will have the dates nailed down right away. Is anybody else looking at booking one of the Nolitours wedding packages through Air Transat, or just booking one of the packages that the resort offers? So far everything I have seen it looks like people are mainly booking the packages through the resorts.....

Also, any ideas/suggestion for the ceremony site? I originally was leaning towards the garden gazebo, but some of the wedding reviews I have read state that it is not very private and the beach is the better location. I am concerned about the noise/wind level at the beach as I have been to a beach wedding previously and as a guest we were unable to hear anything.

Thanks Ladies =)

Hi!

I just had my wedding at the Barcelo on March 16.  Our ceremony was at Coral Beach at 4:00.  There was a light breeze, no strong winds.  Also, they provide a microphone & speaker so all the guests can hear the wedding.  Even watching the video we can hear every word and there is no wind noise.  Hopefully that sets your mind at ease for having your ceremony on the beach.  Their beach locations are gorgeous for having a wedding.  And much more private than having it at the gazebo.  Playa Azul is the most private beach location, it's where we had our reception.

Mel

Hi,

The last 3 years , I have covered as photographer about 20 weddings  at Barcelo Maya resorts.

Iâ€m sharing now all this experience on  a REVIEW including Slide-show and advice according to  the ceremony you want, the amount of guests you invite and the weather season in the Riviera Maya.

I sure  this  BARCELO MAYA PALACE WEDDING REVIEW can help you to prepare this  unique day. Use it!

I'm an April 7th bride :)

Just a word to the wise, I have had my date confirmed since March of this year and they only recently contacted me to tell me that you cannot have a legal ceremony on that weekend as it is Easter weekend, even though I had specificially asked if you could.  Also, this means that the Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon will not count as a day in Mexico that you need to have before you get married.

Yay to the Barcelo 2012 brides!!

I am getting married April 13th at the Palace!!

This forum has been such a great help in the planning process.  We chose to book our wedding package through Transat Holidays because it seemed to be the best deal.  Has anybody had any experience with them?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
