aaaahhhh!!!  I just found out that, yes indeed we need to be there by 12 pm Saturday in order for it to count as 3 days before hand!!!  Needless to say, I am pretty angry and so glad that I asked, we won't make it before 12 pm!!!  We can't leave on Friday as we are already taking 2 weeks off and my FI isn't getting paid for 1 of those weeks, so we don't want to take more time off, so we now have to change our date!!!!!!!!!!!!!girl_werewolf.gifHere's hoping to the 31st!!!  HA!

Jamie- I'm in the same boat now because thanks to New York State board of education for changing their testing dates it moves the spring break up a week!  So now we are going to have to change our date since my mom, aunts, uncle, and close family friends are all teachers!  But the problem is of course the week before the rate is more expensive so we have no idea what to do at this point!  It really sucks!!!!!

uugghh!!!  That's way worse than what I am going through, I am just annoyed with my TA!  HA!!!  I totally understand, though because we had to have our wedding at that time of year (before it got too hot) because we have tons of teachers in our families as well!!!  I hope you get it figured out soon!!!  and of course the week you want to switch it to is more expensive!!!!  Good Luck girl!!!

As always, you BDW Girls came through for me. Thank you so much!  You are  heaven sent! angel1.gif

I knew I had seen that "3 PM" thing somewhere and that it wasn't all in my crazy-bride head. My TA told me " You should be fine-it's 3 business days", but I knew there were other stipulations. Now I need to decide if I want to take a "red eye" flight in or fly in a day earlier and pay for another night at MP. Yikes! Things are getting more expensive everyday. But, it would have been sooo much worse if I would've had to cancel airline tickets and pay the hefty fines to change the tickets.

Thanks again! Hugs!

We went through the same thing.  Basically we have to leave at like 6AM to catch our flight and we're getting there JUST under the wire (at like 11:30ish).  I'll probably have to jump into a cab to get to the resort before hand while FI grabs our luggage. FRUSTRATING!

Frustrating indeed! Are you having a "civil ceremony" or symbolic? My TA called me this morning to tell me that it should still be ok since the FI and I are getting married in CA before we leave for Mexico, hence the ceremony in Mexico will be symbolic. After KR Smith pointed out that it was in the contract I double checked mine. Originally we were having a civil ceremony and it is indeed in that contract. My most recent contract, after I requested the ceremony be changed, does not include that verbiage.  In either case, I told the TA to hold off on booking the airline tickets until we get final confirmation in writing. I'll keep you all posted.

Mine is civil.  I was told that regardless of civil/symbolic we have to be there before noon on the Saturday. =(

Good morning ladies!!

Hope everyone is doing well! I feel so behind!! I haven't had a chance to check in on the board the last few weeks. Looks like everyone has been very busy. We have had so much going on with school back in session and work stuff.

We did get our invites out about 2 weeks ago and have already received a few RSVPs back. So far we have 15 couples ready to take a vacation!!! Yay!!! So excited!! Now just waiting to see how many nights they book. We are really hoping to get the 75 nights as most of you are!

I'm hoping to post our invites soon for everyone to see.

Happy planning!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
