2011 & 2012 PLAYACAR PALACE BRIDES!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello Yunric! We are getting married on August 3,2012 and we have plans to use Juan Navarro. Waiting to sign contract. I emailed Wilma regarding del Sol and La Luna being way out of my price range. She said that was fine but I would have to pay for their day pass. Ask your wedding coordinator. I explained to Wilma how important photography is to us and let her know that after doing research we found Juan Navarro's work very pleasing and reasonable.
thanks! I will follow up and talk about price range .. I don't mind paying a day pass.

Hey girls!!  I just wanted to let you all know, since we are talking about Wilma, to NOT let your current WC stress you out!  Things that my other WC was saying (first Lauren Negrin and then Janina) are not the same things that Wilma is saying.  Like how since I am bringing my own flowers, I could not get an altar centerpiece instead of the comp bouquet...Wilma's answer "no problem!"  I know we all get so excited and anxious and want to plan everything out in advance, but she is great and helps you pick everything out quickly so that the 60 days prior to your wedding day that you get with her is MORE than enough.  I just know Janina and some of the previous coordinators would give me conflicting answers, trust me...Wilma is awesome

Hi Perry1217,

I'm getting married at Playacar Palace April 19th and would love to be able to book everything now regarding hair, makeup, mani/pedi ... do you have a contact?  My WC has been very unresponsive and I would love a direct contact for the spa :)

Also, ladies, I was dead set on getting married on the beach, but last night I was browsing around on wedding websites and saw a video of a beach wedding at the resort and it seemed as if it was not private at all, many of the shots had people walking right in front of the ceremony site...not really what I want on my wedding day.  We're pretty laid back, but I don't want to share my photos with some unkown guy in a speedo, lol.

Any thoughts on this?

We had our wedding on the beach. Our pictures are amazing. We had our wedding at 4pm. On occasion there may have been a picture with and extra person in the background, but for the most part there werent. Our photographers seemed to have worked around it. Also, I dont know who your using but when I did my photographer research it seemed as though lot's of them had the ability to crop those peole our when the photos were edited. We go over 2,000 pictures. I dont think there are even 10 with odd people in the pics.

Hi there!  I am also planning my wedding on the beach and am doing it at 4 pm (sunset is at 5:15) in the hopes that it will be less crowded on the beach.  The added plus is that it will also be a bit cooler than having it at 1 or 2!  As far as the spa info, her name is Karen and her e-mail is [email protected], but from what I understand you can only book the appointments a month ahead of time if you are paying for it with resort dollars.

Thanks Ladies!  We're doing the 6pm time slot which is sunset (during the time of year we're getting married).  That makes me feel better about the beach (maybe I'll just suck it up, haha lol).

Sharky - who did you use for your photographer?  Right now I have messages in to Juan Navarro and Del Sol Photography.  Any other suggestions?

What packages are you guys doing/did you guys do?  I was going to go with the Sapphire Package, but after talking with my WC in the Miami office I think I'm going to go with the complimentary Colin Cowie package and add in as needed/desired.

Ziki,

I used Blue Lense Caribe. They were great!

We did the Dimond package. We paid for it with the resort credit. Just know that if you do choose a package some items can change and I wouldnt listen to anything that the WC in Miami says you cant do. 99.9% of everything they told me was wrong! For Example we had the diamond collection which was white and silver. Didnt match my colors. They let me subsitute red. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them to handle once on site. I was shocked when every quetsion I asked was "yes".

Hi Ladies! I'm getting married at PP on April 1st! My future hubby and I are goofballs so we thought an April Fool's day wedding would be fitting :) I am wondering how all of you are transporting your guests to and from the airport?? I read on the tripadvisor that palace resorts does NOT provide a shuttle to or from the airport. I'm a little concerned that this will be pricey for my guests!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
