Your pictures are beautiful and everything looked amazing. I can't wait for our date in June. My one question for you and sorry if you have answered this is did you get your bouquet from the hotel or outside flower shop? If so where (possible name) and did you order it once you were there or arrange ahead of time?

Thanks!

Taylor

Hi there!!!  I actually used Simply Classic Creations.  No one could tell that they were fake!!!  We just wrapped the bouquets in plastic bags and packed them with light light clothing on top.  They were perfect.  And for my bouquet, the MOH bouquet and the two bouts we paid 115 and that included the shipping.  We were able to use the complimentary bouquet and bout as an altar piece instead.

Congratulations! I haven't been on on forum in forever. I just got back from Mexico and was able to check out Playacar for my wedding coming up in Nov. 2012. I loved the hotel but the only thing is that it's too small for the amount of people that are coming. :( I fell in love with the resort right away. I hope you had an amazing wedding :)

Hi Everyone!

So - taking some of your advice, we e-mailed Wilma just to confirm that we were able to use an outside vendor for photography & she said that we have 3 options.  A.) use the Smile Market, who is contracted through the resort B.) Use La Luna or Del Sol - with a purchased day pass, or C) use an outside vendor, but that person(s) must stay two nights at the hotel?????

We're really stressing out now because we read that many of you all were able to use an outside photographer without any problem -  have any of you heard this??   We are currently trying to book Ivan Luckie - we really don't want to use the resort photographers because their photos look a little - cheesy......  Del Sol's pricing was a little too much - Ivan Luckie seems to be EXACTLY what we are looking for.

Help?????

Hey Chelsea,

We are getting married July 2nd at Playacar Palace and are using Derek and Lorena from PhotosinCancun.  (They have been fabulous and we love their photography is beautiful!)  The Miami WC put it in our contract that we would be using them and would just need to purchase a day pass for each of them.  I wouldn't stress about it just yet.  I am sure  if you let your WC know that photography is very important to you and you can only afford to purchase the day pass for him they may budge.  Good Luck!

Believe me...Photography is really important to us as well, but we're on a budget too.  His email is mrderekcampbell@gmail.com  They are really good with communication and have shot at Playacar Palace a lot.  You should check out their underwater photography.  It is so cool, but I want to re-sell my dress, so no TTD session for me.  Oh just to let you know, Lorena is also going to do my make-up.  I am a professional make-up artist and she uses great products and her work looks great in photos.

Unfortunately she is booked for our wedding, but check out her website - www.sweetfirephotography.com.

Her work is incredible & she seems super nice!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
