Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone, for the welcome!  It can be very difficult planning a destination wedding on your own.  Being able to get advice from other girls who are experiencing or have already experienced this is very helpful and comforting.  I'm just mad I didn't find this forum sooner!

I am also staying in the Caribean Village...we were first gonna stay in the French, but my TA said not to. From what i read, the FV is super far in the back, not close to beach at all.

Not to confuse you or sway you, or anything like that, she also said the FV was kinda musty. Those are her words. Just sharing what she told me. TripAdviser drives me nuts, one person says one thing, another someting else. Its all very confusing :(

Good luck girls!!

I am getting married in May and I also booked a suite in the Caribbean village. My TA has told me amazing things about the resort and the suites in that village. I did hear that the regular rooms were outdated though, so you should be fine as long as your in a suite. Also a bride posted a review on this thread not to long ago about her stay and room in the Caribbean village, she had lots of good things to say about her stay, room, and her concierge!

Hello Brides,

I am in the very beginning of the planning process.  I'm looking to get married in April/May 2012.I have narrowed down that I want a wedding at an all-inclusive in either Turks or Mexico.

Can any of you tell me how you booked your room blocks for guests at Beaches?  Is it better to book a block with the hotel, let guest book their own rooms, or use a travel agent?  If TA, can anyone recommend a great TA that is very familiar with the property?

Can anyone share with me what their guests are spending per person.  My main concern right now if my in-laws being able to afford the location I pick.  Any tips for securing a great deal would be so very helpful.  I really like what I've read and seen of Beaches Turks so far.

Thanks!

Kathleen

Hi Girls!

I have more new info from the Beaces people.  Yesterday I sent a letter to the Beaches Corporate telling them that I was disappointed in the planning process, the poor response time to questions, the outdated information (constantly) The high cost of packages, the high pressure sales,  & the misinfomation that is being given in order to make sales.  Today I received an email apologizing and lots of new information, and I wanted to share it with everyone.  I also had my wedding planner switched...so I no longer have Monica.

I am the Supervisor for the Sandals and Beaches Wedding Department.  I have read your email and would like to offer our apologies if the level of service in planning thus far has not been as expected.

I must advise that the availability and pricing of our wedding options specifically our floral, has undergone changes in the past few months where prices have been lowered considerably to maintain our margin in the marketplace.  Information that may have been provided to one bride months ago may not be the same as that provided to a recent bride.

You are correct in that all brides should be updated with current pricing, and I assure you we are in the process of contacting them with these new and exciting changes.  Where we were once strictly Martha Stewart, we are now able to customize your wedding to your vision, color palette, style and budget.

We have added to our Floral selection new and more affordable bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces.  In addition have lowered the pricing on the Martha Stewart Theme arches to add to a Beautiful Beginnings wedding.  We are able to customize your wedding as you envision it.

Our photography and videography has also undergone new changes as you are able to see the work from a few of our photographers on our sister site, Sandals website under "Real Weddings" , at this link for photos: http://www.sandals.com/weddingmoons/weddings/real-weddings.cfm

and this link for our different styles of Videos: http://www.sandals.com/weddingmoons/weddings/videos.cfm

Have a wonderful afternoon and please do not hesitate to contact me if I could be of further assistance.

Warm regards,

Interesting, I am dying to hear more about the new floral selection...so they now do boquets that are not martha, how much are those puppies gonna be? Thanks for the info timswife, and please keep us posted if you hear anything new.

But I am confused because I just read the newest wedding kit I got from Iv1044, and the reception options were the same as the ones i recieved back in Ocober, but some of the themes were cheaper , but Timswife posted a while back all sorts of new bufett and sitdown dinner options, so what kit is that in?? Holy Kit Confusion!!!!!!

I am not really in a rush to make any serious decisions regarding a reception yet, but i would like to have a general dollar mount idea so i can begin to budget...I feel like I have no budget, lol, because i have no idea of the real cost of things...this is fustrating!!

Thanks again Timswife, let me know what you think!!!

Lizzdee-

that's exactly what I was complaining about, we all seem to have different information that get's outdated quicker than cell phones, and it's like you have to beg for information, and then wait forever for it.  We should all be receiving all the information all at once...all the menus all the flower options etc.  I had to ask to get the menu options.

The new planner is supposed to be sending the newest most complete information...will let you all know!  I am excited about the flowers!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
