Can anyone comment on a few things about the ceremony.

Do you chose what the 3 piece band plays up and down the isle?

What was the process for the symbolic ceremony in terms of the person meeting with you/ customizing the ceremony for you?

Did anyone bring your own decorations for the gazebo? If so, what?

can any bride recommend a site that sells real touch flowers at a reasonable price

On the hunt for this myself. I haven't purchased anything so far but www.afloral.com seems to have what I want.  I worry about the shipping charges but they email me different coupons every now and then.  So hopefully it will cancel each other out.

It makes it a little more expensive since it's shipping to Canada.

Bloom Bridal does really nice real touch flowers but I found them to be about the same cost as getting flowers from the resort.

Tricia, they're based in Ontario also.

Hi alycamille - I live in Toronto and got my fake bouquets from a lady who has a booth at a local flea market.  Really reasonable pricing and she has a warehouse in Richmond Hill too.

Hey Mellie.

Yea I actually got mine from a lady at Pickering flea market. Did you get yours there also? But they aren't real touch, that's the only thing. I just settled for these as they were much more affordable for us. I'm not sure the material, some are foam or silk I guess? Hopefully they're still nice, I haven't gotten them yet.

I live just outside of Toronto, and since everything tends to be so much cheaper in the states I decided on ordering everything (including my bridesmaid dresses, all orders i made through etsy etc.. and any other favours or welcome bag items) in the states. But, to avoid shipping rates to Canada, there is a postal mailbox service you can use and its I think 5 bucks per package and you get a US address so we just had everything shipped there and just drove over for the weekend to pick it all up.  Its called CBI warehouse or something along those lines if anyone from the area is interested. I save a load of money doing it this way.

That's funny, I got mine from the Pickering Flea Market too!  They are not real touch but she is very reasonable with pricing.  Her name is Doreen but her sister also has a booth in the flea market too.  She did a mock up of the bouquets for us last weekend and they were amazing!

Was anyone charged a fee or needed a day pass for Pastor Rick to come to the resort & perform the ceremony for them?

I've been told the resort does not charge a fee for him to officiate. I'm using him myself and asked the same question for my WC.

Hello ladies, it's been a while since I've been on here. With only about a month to go, I've been swamped and scrambling to get everything done.

I've been wanting to share a website that our groomsmen were able to get their linen suits from. The vest and pants were less than $130 altogether. The bottom of the pants come quite long and unhemmed but if you know someone who can do it for cheap, it's worth it. My FI was also able to get a jacket from them. Here's the website:

Islandimporter.com

Also, I've seen some brides asking about DJ Mannia. Your WC can book him for you but the only caveat is that if you choose the MC package that includes the sparklers or "cold fires" during your first dance, those are not included with DJ Mannia. Just one little detail that I found out while asking about him.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
