Love the idea Slaughter2be... My bridesmaids went with Transformer dresses in the same color... Each will tie them in a style that suits them. My MOH even had hers cut into a high-low (which my wedding gown is)!

Hi ladies, I haven't been on much due to this crazy semester I've been having at grad school. Only 2 more papers to submit and I'm done until February! Then I can use my whole break for the next month to focus on wedding planning. This would be so much easier if my friends and family would ACTUALLY RSVP!! grr, only 5 familes have responded so far out of over 120 invites we sent out! I guess it's my fault for giving them until January 15th to rsvp, totally regretting that.

So far, my bridesmaids dresses are being custom-made (I did not have time to look for one, this was just easier for me and I have a friend who's making them) and I am patiently awaiting the arrival of my gown. My fiance and his best man are having some trouble finding linen suits, considering it's almost winter! Any ideas on where to find these kinds of suits in the offseason?

I've also decided to use uplighting and extra drapery for my reception in the ballroom, I think it will give it a nice look as I saw a previous bride used it in this forum. Just trying to figure out what the wedding dept. might have listed it as on the pricing list... maybe LED lights? I'm trying to hold off bugging Aris, my WC until next month.

only 3 1/2 months to go for me!

LovelyGemini, my FI ordered his pants from Tommy Bahama, which I am totally nervous about as they still have not arrived (we leave in less than 3 weeks and the 1st pair were not the color he wanted). I ordered his & the groomsmen's linen shirts from the Gap, but not sure if they still have them. Good luck!!

Hi Ladies!

I can't believe we are 4 months away from our special day! I have bought mostly everything we need, but I still have so much anxiety as to the "little" things that need to be done. I know for sure everything will fall into place, and that puts me more at ease!

HAPPY PLANNING GIRLYS!

Hi there - I made the mistake of not buying linne suits for my fiance and the groomsmen in the summer time.  Luckily, my fiance and I found these suits online, they turned out amazing and fit true to size: http://www.amazon.com/Bianco-Brioni-Italy-Modern-Button/dp/B002T6N68G

We ordered the dark blue as our wedding theme is nautical.

That is an amazing deal!

I live in Canada and we had them shipped to my cousin in Atlanta who came home for the holidays so we saved a lot on shipping costs.

best of luck!

Melissa

Yay I'm back in! Missed you ladies. I could only read for a while, couldn't post because the password reset wasn't working for me.

Soooo general question.... How is it having a September wedding in DR? Thinking about moving my date, but weary of hurricane season. Anyone on here have a September wedding or been to DR in September?

Less than 3 months to go and 4 days left until the official RSVP date and I'm still (im)patiently waiting for my lovely family members to respond...  -_-

An issue that many of our guests have been complaining about has to do with the "Day/Night Pass" that people have to purchase in order to even attend the wedding if they are not staying at BBPD. The day pass covers entrance from 10am-6:00pm and cost $55pp. However, my wedding is at 5:00pm and the reception starts at 7:00 which means everyone will have to purchase the "night pass", also $55pp in order to stay on the property after 6:00pm. I think it's a little steep at $110pp especially when we're already having to pay $50+ for them as additional guests on top of our wedding package.

But anyway, does anyone know if children have to pay the full price of the pass? Can't remember having read this in previous posts.

Hi Ladies

Just wondering if anyone could help me with finding a vendor for real touch flowers/bouquets. I know there are plenty on etsy & other sites, but I would feel better about ordering if I know people who had good experiences with them. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
