Punta Cana Photographers?

We also used Photo Souvenir and we are getting the same reactions from friends and family as laurabre did......we're even getting calls from magazines....jk!!  But people keep saying we should submit some of them into contests!!     In all seriousness, here's what my husband and I have to say about our experience:

One of the most important purchases of our wedding was the photographer and we couldn't have been happier.  We hired Photo Souvenir and they were everything we hoped for and more!!   We chose them because they not only came highly recommended, but we were very impressed by the work displayed on their website, not to mention the website itself.  Severine was our photographer and Renu was our videographer and there wasn't a moment that they missed.   Our guests were amazed at how hard they worked.....the 2 of them were on their feet all 8 hours!  We haven't seen our video yet, but the photos are UNREAL!  Severine captured everything and everyone from various points of view.....my husband and I enjoyed our wedding that much more after we looked through the pictures and saw all the emotion and fun that surrounded us.  Severine added artistic elements to the candid pictures and even made the traditional posed pictures unique, beautiful and fun....so much more memorable than a typical photographer does.  While her talents were quite evident after looking through all the pictures from the Wedding Day, nothing will ever compare to the pictures and the experience from the Trash the Dress day.  My husband and I had so much fun driving around the island with Severine and stopping at random, local areas.  The natives were so excited to welcome us to their shops and happily let us pose wherever Severine suggested.  We finished the day at a quaint and gorgeous beach and again, just followed Severineâ€s lead.  Between her choice of camera angles, lighting, poses, scenery and focal points plus her ability to keep my husband and I relaxed and having fun, we ended up with some of the most beautiful, serene, exciting, funny and memorable pictures of our lives!!  Now, we have been working with Severine to create our album and she has been extremely helpful, accommodating and patient.  Iâ€m shocked at how easy, smooth and quick this process has been.  We canâ€t wait to see the video, but based on Severines work and LauraBrea's comments above, we are quite confident that it will be just as comprehensive, picturesque, artistic, emotional and memorable. We HIGHLY recommend Photo Souvenir!!

Hi Everyone,

A photographer Im highly considering is Michael Steingard Studios. His work is amazing and exactly what I was looking for. I am also aphtoographer so the picutres are extremely important to me. He's $2,600 for full day coverage and a trash the dress session and you get a cd of all your edited pcitures with full release which i think is great since you can print them yourself and make your own albums which is much more afforadable. He is based in Canda but with enough weddings booked he will waive all travel fee's. My wedding is 10/27/12 so if anyone is getting married around that time i'd definitely consider Michael and if we get enough weddings we would not have to pay for his travel.

Hello ladies,

We have booked Jamie Dimitry who works with Phil and Michael Steingard. All three are amazing at what they do. I have personally talked to both Phil and Jamie, and they are so knowledgeable, not just about photography, but about destination weddings in general because they do so many of them. They truly care about you and your big day and make the whole experience personal.

I have booked with Michael Weiler  also.  Friends of ours were married at Dreams, Punta Cana this past April (their pictures are currently on his web-site).  They had nothing but great things to say and his prices are awesome.  That combined with the fact the resort we picked only charges the $45 day pass fee for an outside photographer it was pretty much a no brainer to go with Michael.

Wish all the decisions were that easy!

We booked Katya Nova and are thrilled with our decision!

They have just finished launching a brand new website which is absolutely amazing and speaks to Katya and her work perfectly.  Katya and Rob (her fiance) will be moving to the Dominican in October and therefore NO TRAVEL FEES!  They also work alongside one another as a (soon to be) husband and wife team.  I love the idea that we will have 2 photographers capturing our big day giving us twice the angles, twice the reactions and twice the images.  Something really important to me was capturing FIs reaction when he first sees me and my reaction when I first walk down the aisle and I know having Katya and Rob there we will be sure to get this.

I found a lot of the other photographers in the DR very basic, though they captured some nice images I was looking for more of an editorial/documentary style of photography, I find some images to "posed" and not natural looking and it was just not what we were looking for.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer with a unique style to capture your day I highly recommend checking out Katya Nova, she has been a pleasure to work with and even worked with us to create a personalized package to suit our needs and budget.  Photography is not cheap, I learned this quickly in my research but to me it was SO important, it will be the only thing we have to remember our day and I wanting to make sure when I look back on these images I have no regrets!

I am on my quest for a photographer...I am reaching out to Katya Nova.  The sound of no travel fees and custom package to my budget are like music to my ears.  I do not mid paying the hefty $300 fee for them to shoot at the Majestic Colonial but I looking forward to hearing more about "custom packages".  We aren't doing a TTD session, we don't have a wedding party, it's a vow renewal soooo I do not want something super extravagant but still want good quality if that makes any sense. lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
