How much for a picture? :)

Not having ever been part of a wedding-planning process, I was not taking into consideration the importance of a photographer until I read your posts. Can you guys give me an idea as to how much I am looking at? I know this is not black and white...

You could probably pay a photographer on the resort anywhere from $300-$2500 depending what your looking for. How long would you want them for...etc.

I'm paying $700 for our pictures.

 

This includes cd with 300 edited images. 75 5x7 prints. A slide show. And 3 hrs of coverage.

I'll be paying about $2000 for 4 hrs of pics and 4 hrs of video through the resort.

I am thinking about hiring Arrecife Studio, i check their work and i think they are great, really good photographers there. I compared with HDC, Hispaniola, Michael and Jorge Alloco photos and i found them very original and up date with this subject. They will make a full cover wedding for me and i am paying around 2000. We are still managing the final price, but i am sure that it will worth it. I discover them via facebook. Arrecife Melia Caribe, Paradisus Palma Real, etc.

Do you have to pay for their tickets and accomodation? If so, is that separate from the picture package?

From what I've been reading, every hotel has different rules about using an outside photographer. Bahia Principe charges $75 for the daily pass, so you end up paying $75 + Package. This is for photographers based in PUJ, if you're bringing somebody, than that's a different story.
